Abstract

Description

Carpet edge finish

The invention relates to a carpet edge finish, consisting of a textile cuff running in the longitudinal direction of the carpet edge. Such carpet edge finishes are used on the one hand because of the protection of the end face of the carpet edge, and on the other hand because of the pleasing appearance. The entire room can be covered with a carpet, the cuff is then attached to the carpet or arranged on the walls via carpet strips. These strips have the same pattern as the carpet. The cuffs are attached to the carpet or the carpet strip in the form of a binding, so that there is no fraying on the carpet strips on their open side even with a longer arrangement. A disadvantage of the known degrees, however, is that the attachment of cuffs is only possible on special machines and that before the start of the work it is precisely measured how and which carpet strips or carpet edges are to be cuffed. Should a change be necessary afterwards, for example an extension of the lasts, the work cannot be completed. The object of the invention is to maintain the advantages of the known carpet finishes. However, it should be possible to determine which cuff or which closure should be taken when laying. In addition, the termination should be easy and quick to install. Such cuffs should be fixed securely, and the cuffs should also be removable again, for example to ensure during wallpapering that there are no spots of color on the cuffs. After all, other colored cuffs should also be able to be used without great effort.

This object is achieved in that the cuff is formed separately from the carpet in that it can be attached with at least one adhesive layer. The separate arrangement or attachment results in the advantage that any lengths of cuffs can be produced, and the required length is then adapted to the actual requirements when laying. It is therefore not necessary to produce unnecessary lengths of carpet edges or strips with a chain seam beforehand. Another advantage is that it is also possible to determine which color or what appearance the cuff should have when laying it. Later in renovations, the cuff can be torn off, the wallpaper can be laid to the carpet and then a new or the old cuff can be attached. It is particularly recommended that a film-like plastic carrier is provided for fastening the cuff, which can be fixed on one side on a wall and which holds the textile cuff on the other side. By interposing a plastic carrier between the cuff and the wall, a fastening means is created which, on the one hand, can be securely attached to a wall, be it the side wall or floor, and which on the other hand securely holds the cuff, with this film-like plastic carrier remaining stuck when the cuff is removed , if necessary, can be used again after cleaning to reattach the old or new cuff. With this measure it is possible at any time to use different cuffs depending on the room equipment. Such cuffs can thus become a fashionable accessory to an apartment. Nevertheless, the arrangement allows inexpensive installation, since simply holding the first cuff in place also creates the holder for additional cuffs. The adhesive layer makes it possible to attach it to the wall perpendicular to the carpet after fixing the cuff above the edge of the carpet.

In a special embodiment, a strip of carpet running perpendicular to the edge of the carpet is provided between the cuff and the edge of the carpet, the strip of carpet running to the edge of the carpet, on the free end of which the cuff can be placed and fastened above the end of the strip. The same advantages apply here as mentioned at the beginning. Another advantage is that the free end face could have a wave-like shape in the longitudinal direction. In one embodiment of the invention, the cuff has a hot-melt adhesive as an adhesive layer, which itself can be attached as soon as the carpet strip is attached. In the case of another cuff, an adhesive tape is provided which is provided with a protective film, the adhesive layer can be exposed by tearing off the protective film and the cuff can then be used. In a special embodiment of the invention, the textile cuff has the first section of a Velcro fastener on its adhesive layer. With the help of this first section of the Velcro fastener, the cuff can then be attached to the second section of a Velcro fastener, which is already attached to a wall. In addition, the user of the rooms can easily replace the cuff if - for him - it does not match the carpet or furniture.

The cuff can be wound up on a supply reel with an adhesive layer - if necessary with a Velcro fastener section - so that the required length of the cuff can be obtained immediately at the place of use. In addition, laying the spool is much easier than without a spool.

In a special embodiment of the invention, the end cuff is designed in the form of a binding. For this purpose, the cuff is U-shaped in cross-section and made up of a spatially offset meandering thread, in this case the free ends of the legs of the U are each fastened to one another with a connecting thread, the one long side of the legs of the U being the carrier of the adhesive layer is provided. The legs of the U on both sides of the end of the carpet strip create a cavity which has an insert on the inside or in which an insert can be inserted. This makes it easier to bind off.

It is advisable to use an adhesive layer, preferably in the form of a double-sided adhesive tape, to hold the cuff on the film-like plastic carrier. This measure allows the cuff to be held securely. Even after removal, a new cuff can either be applied to the adhesive tape if the adhesive tape is still in order, or the cuff can be provided with a new adhesive tape. In a special embodiment of the invention, one half is used to hold the textile cuff Velcro fastener provided on the carrier. This Velcro half has mounts in the form of anchors, barbs or the like. on. Removal is also possible, since a simple pulling allows the separation, the new application is again ensured because new threads of the cuff can get caught in the Velcro fastener. It is particularly advantageous here if the film-like plastic carrier itself is designed as part of a Velcro fastener. The plastic carrier allows it to be attached to a wall using an adhesive layer and the holder to be attached using its Velcro fastener. The second half of the Velcro fastener is advantageously formed by the textile cuff. As already mentioned, the textile threads can easily get caught in the first Velcro fastener. However, it is also possible here to fix a separate Velcro fastener on the cuff, which in turn is then fixed on the first Velcro fastener.

In a special embodiment of the invention, the film-like plastic carrier is so wide that areas of the carpet edge can be attached to the plastic carrier by means of an adhesive layer and / or Velcro fastening. This results in easy fixability and cost-saving work during installation. It is particularly recommended that the film-like plastic carrier is glued to the carpet edge for attachment to a wall and that the cuff is attached to the protruding part of the plastic carrier.

When attaching the carpet edge, be it in the manner of a carpet strip or be it the edge of a complete carpet or display goods, an adhesive connection can be used, provided that the carpet or the carpet strip is also made of the textile material on its underside, the Velcro fastener can also be used there be used. As shown in FIG. 2, the back of the carpet strip 11 has an adhesive layer 17 and is fastened to the wall 16 with it. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, both the carpet strip 11 and the carpet strip finish have a hot-melt adhesive as an adhesive layer on, which is applied in several strips and heated to attach the carpet strip to the wall, then fixed to this.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, only the carpet strip end 12 is shown. In this exemplary embodiment, an adhesive layer 17 is provided both on one side of the end and on the side facing the carpet strip 11, so as to have an attachment possibility on the wall on the one hand and on the other side on the end face of the carpet strip.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5, a binding is shown. The binding has a warp thread 29. This is determined in a certain way when linking.

It should be noted here that the insert 14 has not been shown for clarity. The textile cuff 13 is designed as a piece of warp, which makes the textile character particularly apparent, so that it can be laid cheaply with a carpet. The cuff is provided with an adhesive layer 17 which is applied to one side 33 of a film-like plastic carrier 32. The cuff 13 is securely attached to the film-like plastic carrier 32. An adhesive layer 17 is also applied to the other side 34 of the plastic carrier 36. This is covered by a protective film 35. The carrier is glued to a floor with this side.

When removing the protective film, the cuff according to FIG. 7 can be glued to a wall 16 or a floor 19.

It should be mentioned here that the adhesive layer 17 on the first side 33 of the plastic carrier is also initially covered with a protective film 35 can, the plastic carrier would then be applied to a wall and after removing the protective film, the cuff 13 would be glued on.

The plastic carrier is in turn fastened with an adhesive layer 17 which is then fastened to the wall.

Here, too, the plastic carrier 32 can first be fastened to the wall and then the carpet edge and the cuff can be subsequently pressed onto the plastic carrier.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 10, the plastic carrier 32 has the Velcro fastener part 36 only at its upper end and at its lower end But the end of an adhesive layer. Such an arrangement is chosen if the carpet on its side facing the plastic carrier is not selected from textile material.

As already mentioned, the illustrated embodiments are only examples of realizations of the invention. These are not limited to this. Rather, various changes and applications are still possible. For example, the carpet edge finish with its adhesive layer can optionally be wound on a spool with a Velcro fastener or cover film, in order to then cut them to appropriate lengths only when laying.
