For example, in a case wherein a receiving TV user may choose to not be interrupted by a sending TV that belongs to an unknown party. During a later time, the receiving TV user may wish to reprogram the receiving compliance status to convey content identifying information if the receiving TV user determines that the user of the sending TV is a known party. Accordingly, the receiving compliance status may be provided by a receiving TV user and may be programmed and/or reprogrammed freely or may only be programmed and/or reprogrammed after the receiving TV user complies with a security restriction.

Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil destinés à permettre des communications d'égal à égal entres des télévisions, où une information d'identification de contenu est envoyée de n'importe laquelle des télévisions (poste émetteur) vers n'importe laquelle des télévisions (poste récepteur). L'information d'identification de contenu est une information qui identifie le contenu en cours de visualisation sur le poste émetteur, notamment des échantillons du contenu en cours de visualisation. En mode utilisation, chaque télévision est d'abord identifiée par chacune des autres télévisions. On constitue l'information d'identification en déterminant si un poste récepteur donné peut acheminer une information d'identification de contenu à partir de chaque poste émetteur. Dans certains cas, le poste récepteur ne peut être programmé que pour acheminer certains types d'informations d'identification de contenu depuis le poste émetteur. L'identification de la télévision est effectuée soit par les télévisions elles-mêmes soit par un médiateur qui est séparé de chacune des télévisions. Les télévisions reçoivent un état de conformité de réception qui identifie quelle information d'identification de contenu est acheminée depuis un poste émetteur donné. Les télévisions peuvent recevoir l'état de conformité de réception de la part des utilisateurs des télévisions. Les télévisions déterminent d'abord si un utilisateur donné peut programmer ou reprogrammer l'information d'identification de contenu qui peut être acheminée depuis un poste émetteur donné, en requérant de l'utilisateur une information d'identification telle qu'un mot de passe. Lorsqu'un utilisateur ne fournit pas le bon mot de passe, la télévision va interdire la programmation et/ou la reprogrammation de l'information d'identification de contenu qu'un poste émetteur donné peut envoyer.
