Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for treating a particular the pulp suspension used to manufacture paper and / or cardboard for an addition of at least one additive, in particular filler, to the wetted fiber surfaces of the fiber material. It affects a device according to the preamble of claim 17.
The careful handling of raw material resources, which is also necessary for economic and ecological reasons, manifests itself in paper production in increasingly lower basis weights of the paper web and in the partial replacement of the fibrous material with fillers. In order to achieve the strongest possible binding of the fillers to the fiber surface, the corresponding treatment has recently been carried out by a so-called "Fiber Loading ™" process, as described, inter alia, in US Pat. No. 5,223,090. In such a "Fiber Loading ™" process, at least one additive, in particular filler, is attached to the wetted fiber surfaces of the fiber material. The fibers can be loaded with calcium carbonate, for example. For this purpose, calcium oxide and / or calcium hydroxide is added to the moist, disintegrated fiber material, at least some of which can be associated with the water present in addition to the fiber material. The fiber material treated in this way is then subjected to pure carbon dioxide or a medium containing carbon dioxide. In addition, the resulting CaCO 3 can form a suspension around the fibers.
Otherwise, when loading the fibers with a respective additive or Filler in particular can be carried out, such as this in US-A-5,223,090. The content of this publication is hereby incorporated by reference into the present application.
Pretreatment is required for the "Fiber Loading ™" process mentioned above the paper suspension required. But now there is the problem that so far no machine optimally suited for such a process for Available.
The aim of the invention is to provide an improved method and an improved To create a device of the type mentioned, which in an optimal manner are suitable for the aforementioned "Fiber Loading ™" process.
With regard to the method, this object is achieved according to the invention solved that the treatment of the fiber suspension at least partially takes place in a fluffer in which the fiber material of the fiber suspension with the aim of splitting the specific surface of the fiber material enlarge in such a way that the educts are accessible to the fiber material surface is optimized.
The fluffer can be used both before and in at least one reactor or the like may be provided.
The specific surface of the pulp suspension is in the fluffer increases, which results in a further improvement of the homogenization results and the "Fiber Loading ™" process is optimized accordingly becomes.
Process optimization is achieved in particular in that the fiber material by means of a toothed disc and / or knife of the fluff with the aim of splitting the specific one To enlarge the surface of the fiber material so that the accessibility for the educts on the fiber material surface is optimized.
