Selbstverständlich sind auch andere Möglichkeiten zur Erfassung der Stellung der Klappe 2 im Inneren des Luftansaugkanals 1, wie z. Claims (10)

  1. Flashback protection apparatus for an air-intake duct (1) of a combustion heater, with
    - a damper (2) whose profile essentially matches the cross-section of the air-intake duct (1) in shape;
    - a pivot (7) extending at an angle to an airflow device (5, 6) and round which the damper (2) can be pivoted; and with
    - a securing element (10) fixed to an outer wall (8) of the air-intake duct (1) and whose firmness declines under exposure to heat;
    where
    - between the damper (2) and the outer wall (8) the securing element (10) forms a holding joint by which the damper (2) is held in an open position which essentially does not impede airflow in the air-intake duct;
    - the decline in firmness of the securing element (10) under exposure to heat is gauged so that the holding joint between the outer wall (8) and damper (2) is released when a predefined temperature has been reached in the vicinity of the securing element (10); and where
    - after release of the holding joint the damper (2) can be swung into a closed position which essentially stops the airflow,
    characterised in that the securing element (10) has a bifurcated end (15) in which the damper (2) may be clamped.
  2. Flashback protection apparatus according to Claim 1, characterised in that the damper (2) has an asymmetrical weight distribution relative to the pivot (7) which forces the damper (2) into the closed position.
  3. Flashback protection apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the damper (2) is acted on by a spring device which forces the damper (2) into the closed position.
  4. Flashback protection apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that on the outer wall (8) of the air-intake duct (1) a limit stop (9) is provided which positions the damper (2) in the closed position.
  5. Flashback protection apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the pivot (7) is mounted in holes in the outer wall (8) of the air-intake duct (1).
  6. Flashback protection apparatus according to Claim 5, characterised in that the pivot (7) can be inserted into the holes from the outside of the outer wall (8) and a axially secured by a tube (4) which can be pushed over the outside, covering the holes.
  7. Flashback protection apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the securing element (10) is detachably mounted in the outer wall (8).
