Abstract

Glove useful for the exfoliation of delicate skins and for the application of cosmetic active substances.

Description

  • The present invention concerns a glove for cosmetic use.
  • Said glove is particularly useful both for the exfoliation of delicate skins and in the topical application of cosmetic active substances.
  • It often happens that said active substances can not carry out their action on the epidermis because of the presence on its surface of a layer of dead cells. A chemical o mechanical exfoliation is usually carried out in order to get rid or to reduce this layer of dead cells. Among mechanical exfoliating means exfoliating gloves are particularly effective, but they have the disadvantage of irritating the skin and are therefore unsuitable to delicate skins.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention will be better described with reference to a non-limitative preferred embodiment which is shown in the alleged figure, representing a front view of the glove according to the present invention with its several component parts.
  • Said glove is formed by three layers (A), (A') and (B), wherein the layer (A') has the same dimensions as layer (A) and is not shown in the figure because it is covered by layer (A).
  • The external layer (A') is made of a film of natural latex, polyurethane or polypropylene and at least its external surface is flocked, preferably with latex. Layers (A) and (B) can be made of the same material as layer (A') or of a film of latex, polyurethane or polypropylene which has not been flocked.
  • Layers (A, A'), being preferably rectangular with rounded corners, have a main axis whose length is 13-19 cm, preferably 16 cm, and a smaller axis whose length is 9-15 cm, preferably 12 cm. The two layers (A, A') are welded along their main sides and one of the smaller sides in order to form a first pocket.
  • The third layer (B), being preferably rectangular with two rounded corners, has a smaller axis whose length is the same as the smaller axis of layers (A, A') and a main axis which is 1-4 cm, preferably 3 cm, shorter than the main axis of layers (A, A'). Layer (B) is connected to the two layers (A, A') by means of the two main sides and one of the smaller sides in order to form a second pocket which is smaller than the first one.
  • Optionally, above layer (B) it is provided a band (C) whose length is the same as the length of the smaller axis of layers (A; A', B) and whose width is 2-3 cm. This band is welded at its ends to the main sides of layers (A, A', B) at an height corresponding to two thirds of the main axis of layer (B) starting from the welded smaller side.
  • A microcapsule can be inserted in the bigger internal pocket, preferably made of non-woven fabric, containing a suitable amount of at least a cosmetic watersoluble active substance, usually a powder, optionally together with cosmetically acceptable excipients.
  • Said microcapsule is formed by two layers of non-woven fabric which are connected along their perimeter in order to define an internal cavity of dimensions suitable to contain a suitable amount of active subtance and excipients. Preferably, said pocket is square or rectangular and its sides have a length of 1.5-6 cm.
  • Preferably, said active substance is selected out of the group consisting of ascorbid acid, allantoin, betaine, azelaic acid, retinil palmitate or dry extract, flowers or leaves of Camelia sinensis, Cucumis sativus, Aloe Barbadiensis, Ginkgo Bilboa and Citrus dulcis.
  • Said cosmetically acceptable excipients are preferably selected out of the group comprising sodium laurylphosphate, sodium cocoylisothionate, sodium laurylglutamate and EDTA disodium salt.
  • In use, the user's hand is introduced in the smaller internal pocket or beneath band (C), the glove is dampened and the surface of the external layer (A') is rubbed on the skin, thus getting rid of the dead cells lying of the skin's surface. If a microcapsule containing one or more active substances is provided in the larger pocket, beside the exfoliating effect the glove carries out the specific effect of the active substances contained in said microcapsule.
  • The glove according to the present invention is particularly useful for the exfoliation of delicate skins. Unlike other exfoliating gloves known in the prior art, it is made of a very soft material which can not cause allergies and does not irritate sensitive skins. Furthermore, the glove according to the present invention can obtain a double effect with a single action, combining the skin exfoliation and the topical application of cosmetic active substances. In this case the action of the active substance is enhanced by the removal of dead cells from the epidermis.
