Abstract

Single-layer non-woven fabric which is abrasive on both sides has a basis weight of 15-150 g/m<2> and contains a uniform mixture of: (A) micro-fibres with a diameter of 1-10 microns; and (B) macro-fibres with a diameter of 15-50 microns. An Independent claim is also included for a melt-blown process for the production of abrasive non-woven fabric by feeding a mixture of polymers with different properties and optional additives into an extruder, extruding the mixture at an outlet temperature of 180-300 degrees C, spinning the extrudate through dies and laying down the spun fibres on a collector.
