Abstract

Vorrichtung und Verfahren zum Betrieb einer Brennkraftmaschine (2) zur Desulfatisierung eines in einer Abgasreinigungsanlage (3) angeordneten Stickoxidspeicherkatalysators (NOx-Speicherkatalysator) (4) durch zyklischen Wechsel des Luftverhältnisses λ. Durch Messung der NOx-Konzentration im Abgas mit einem ersten NOx-Sensor (5), der in Strömungsrichtung nach dem NOx-Speicherkatalysator (4) angeordnet ist, und Quotientenbildung des Sensorausgangsignals mit der NOx-Konzentration im Verbrennungsabgas der Brennkraftmaschine (2) vor dem NOx-Speicherkatalysator (4), wird die Desulfatisierung von Schwefeldioxidverbindungen SOx im NOx-Speicherkatalysator (4) derart durchgeführt, dass auch während der Desulfatisierung der Verschwefelungsgrad des NOx-Speicherkatalysators festgestellt werden kann und nur so lang desulfatisiert wird, wie es zur Wiederherstellung eines ausreichenden Katalysatorwirkungsgrades erforderlich ist. Ausserdem wird die Desulfatisierung so durchgeführt, dass kein Schwefelwasserstoff (H2S) entsteht.
