Description

The present invention relates to a ski binding equipped with a removable ski brake and can be reassembled.

To sharpen ski edges, it is necessary to be able to remove the ski brake, because the brake arms interfere with this operation. In addition, due to heavy stress on the ski slopes, the brake arms can break, deform or wear. It is therefore necessary to dismantle and reassemble the ski brake.

Etat de la techniqueState of the art

Les FR-2.668.941, FR-2.265.420, FR-2.692.804 et FR-2.741.275 présentent une fixation de ski, comprenant une embase, munie d'un frein de ski démontable présentant une armature de frein. Le frein de ski est toujours assemblé à l'embase par une ou plusieurs vis.FR-2.668.941, FR-2.265.420, FR-2.692.804 and FR-2.741.275 have a ski binding, comprising a base, provided with a removable ski brake having a brake armature. The ski brake is always assembled to the base by one or more screws.

According to FR-2,383,681 a ski binding comprising a front stop and a ski brake with its sole. The sole of the ski brake is extended by two flexible tabs engaging in the hollow base of the stop. These two tabs each have a stud coming to snap into a slot in the base of the stop.

It is also known from FR-2.447.732 a ski binding comprising a base provided with a removable ski brake having a brake armature. The brake armature is extended by a flexible blade comprising two stop pins that can be housed by snapping into two corresponding bores formed in the base.

The rigid retaining means attaches by simple axial thrust to a spring-biased movable latch.

The disadvantages of the mounting and dismounting devices of the prior art are that the ski brake is attached to the attachment by screws that can be lost. In addition the screws are screwed and unscrewed and erode and erode the thread. The other fasteners of the ski brake by flexible parts or by parts with spring require a more complex manufacture, and there is a risk of breakage of these same flexible or spring-loaded parts, and it may possibly occur untimely movements and twists during use on ski slopes.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

The invention aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by developing a mountable and removable ski brake having excellent strength on a base of the binding.

The problem posed consists in providing means for retaining the ski brake cooperating in a simple and solid manner with a complementary element present on the base.

A ski binding, comprising a sliding base on a slide placed on the ski, provided with a removable ski brake, has a brake armature having rigid retaining means.

The present ski binding is characterized in that the rigid retaining means hook, by a longitudinal and transverse engagement movement, a fixed element secured to the base.

Depending on the position of the fixed element, the base may include a notch to facilitate the engagement movement of the brake armature. However, to ensure lateral retention of the brake armature, during use, the notch is preferably closed by slide. The retaining portion of the brake armature may comprise at least one lug, preferably two tabs, in the form of an engagement notch hook. These two legs are for example flat and arranged parallel to the plane of the base so as to engage.

The fixed element intended to cooperate with the lug (s) advantageously comprises a number of projections corresponding to the number of lugs, preferably two projections. These projections are for example oriented perpendicular to the plane of the base. The free end of the projections will preferably fit into the structure of the base to improve their own resistance to tearing. In this way, the hooks will not be able to get out of the grip of the projections during a possible parasitic vertical movement of these hooks.

To further improve the local rigidity of the attachment at this level, the attachment may comprise a reinforcement-reinforcement attached to the base, so as to delimit a housing. Both legs engage in this housing before clinging to the two projections. In this case, the reinforcement frame also bears the two protrusions that pass through this housing.

In order to avoid rotational movements of the ski brake during lateral shocks, it is possible to provide on one leg of the brake armature an additional protrusion placed on the side without notch facing outwards. The outgrowth will come up against a slide on the ski. By this catch-up side play, the tabs can not out protrusions during unwanted vibrations, if the fastener is inserted on the slide.

Description détaillée de l'inventionDetailed description of the invention

A binding for ski 1 comprises a slide 2 fixed on a ski 3 and a base 4, ensuring the mounting of the other parts of the binding, slidably mounted on the slide 2. The base 4 is a plastic part comprising parts of metal reinforcement 5. On the base 4 is mounted a stirrup 6 pivotable on the base 4 relative to a vertical axis. A support plate 7, intended for the installation of the heel of the ski boot, covers the stirrup 6. A body 8 acting as a heel gripper and disengaging handle is articulated on the stirrup.

Un ressort 19 tendant à soulever la pédale 17, c'est-à-dire à maintenir les bras de frein 12 et 13 en position abaissée, agit sur la biellette 18.The binding is equipped with a brake 9 attached, so that it can be mounted and disassembled, at the end of the base 4. This brake 9 comprises a brake armature 11 on which are articulated two brake arms 12, 13 having a substantially horizontal intermediate portion 14 passing through holes formed in lateral cheeks of the armature 11 and serving as bearings for the brake arms 12, 13. The armature 11 is itself mounted in a molded part 16, also traversed by the brake arms and whose shape has a cam function controlling the lowering and raising movement of the brake arms. The upper ends of the brake arm 12 and 13 are articulated under a brake pedal 17 further articulated on the brake armature 11 by means of a rod 18. A spring 19 tending to lift the pedal 17, that is to say to maintain the brake arms 12 and 13 in the lowered position, acts on the rod 18.

The brake armature 11 has two curved lateral wings 21 and 22, in which the slide 2 slides, so that the brake armature 11 is held and guided by the slide 2 in a manner similar to the base of the fixation 4. The brake armature 11 further has a retaining portion in the form of two lugs 23, 24 directed parallel to the plane of the base of the attachment 4, that is to say the plane of the slide 2. These tabs 23, 24 are of flat rectangular general shape and have laterally, each a notch 26, respectively 27.

The tab 23 which has its smooth side oriented to the outside further comprises an outgrowth 28 positioned on this side opposite the notch 26, and extending substantially downwards from the plane of said tab 23.

At the stirrup 6 and the brake 9, a first plane P1 defined by the lower inner surface of the base 4 of the binding is offset vertically relative to a second plane P2 corresponding to the sliding of the slide 2, so that to form a free volume 29 of substantially parallelepiped general shape. In this volume 29, a flat reinforcement-plate 31, generally metallic, is mounted parallel to the base 4, for example by riveting, while delimiting with the aid of perpendicular fasteners, a housing 32 between the reinforcement-frame 31 and the first plane P1 of the base 4.

The reinforcing armature 31 further comprises two fixed projections 33, 34 which are oriented perpendicularly with respect to the plane of the reinforcing armature 31 and therefore relative to the plane of the base 4. The two projections 33, 34 are in the form of two small parallelepipeds rectangle, which are directed towards the base 4. The two projections 33, 34 have a sufficiently large dimension in the longitudinal direction to withstand the forces of tearing of the brake 9 in the longitudinal direction, for example when pairing two skis to transport them.

The shape of the projections 33, 34 corresponds to the shape of the notches 26, 27 of the tabs 23, 24. The two projections 33, 34 extend in the base 4 and fit into the structure of the base 4.

The housing 32 has at the front an opening which allows the passage of the two legs 23, 24 with a very small clearance.

The base 4 further comprises a lateral notch 36 in the form of a cutout made in the slide of the base 4.

Le verrouillage latéral du frein 9 est alors obtenu par la glissière 2, lorsque l'ensemble frein 9 et embase 4 est finalement engagé sur la glissière 2.The mounting of the brake 9 on the base 4 of the attachment 1 will be first pushing in a longitudinal engagement movement (arrow L in Figure 4) followed by displacement in a transverse movement (arrow T on the Figure 4). This longitudinal movement L is carried out with the brake 9 shifted laterally, so that the end of the tabs 23, 24 does not abut against the projections 33, 34. The longitudinal movement L allows the brake armature 11 to pass through. lateral notch 36, then at the end of the stroke, the tabs 23, 24 respectively, will be positioned in front of the projections 33, respectively 34. The transverse movement T will make that the notches 26, respectively 27, tabs 23, respectively 24, will abut against the corresponding projections 33, respectively 34. The lateral locking of the brake 9 is then obtained by the slide 2, when the brake assembly 9 and base 4 is finally engaged on the slide 2.

Conversely, the disassembly of the brake 9 on the base 4 of the binding will be first of all by disengaging the brake assembly 9 and base 4 of the slide 2, then moving the brake 9 in a transverse movement and finally pulling the brake 9 in a longitudinal output movement.

Any undesired disassembly of the brake 9 during lateral shocks on the brake arms 12, 13 is avoided either in a lateral direction by embedding the projections 33, 34 in the notches 26, 27 of the lugs 23, 24, or in the other direction lateral by the abutment of the protrusion 28 of the lug 23 against the slide 2 of the ski.

Les saillies 33, 34 pourraient également être issues directement de l'embase 4.The ski binding with its removable brake is not limited to the embodiment described and illustrated. In particular, the number, arrangement and shape of the tabs 23, 24, notches 26, 27, and projections 33, 34 may vary. The projections 33, 34 could also come directly from the base 4.
