  4. Silencer according to any one of claims 1 to 3, whose housing (2) has an additional heat insulation layer.

  9. Silencer according to any one of claims 6 to 8, wherein at least one end portion (4, 5) of the housing (2) forms a double receiving connection piece (10, 11), in which two inlet-side or outlet-side pipes (12, 13) of the exhaust system can be received.
  10. Silencer according to any one of claims 1 to 9, whose housing (2) has a circular, substantially oval or other suitable cross-section.
