Abstract

The invention relates to a light metal piston for internal combustion engines, with bearing bushes (4) placed in piston pin bores (2) of the pin hubs for the piston pin through which said piston is drivingly connected to the motor drive rod. In order to improve the tight fit of said bushes (4) in the piston pin bores, the piston is built in such a way that said bearing bush (4) is a bush wound from a laminated strip- or band shaped metallic material, which has a joint (6) that is closed in a compressed condition, and said wound bush exhibits a preferential orientation of the metallurgical grains thereof in a peripheral direction.

Description

Titel: Kolben für VerbrennungskraftmaschinenTitle: Pistons for internal combustion engines
Beschreibungdescription
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Leichtmetallkolben für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen, mit in Kolbenbolzenbohrungen der Bolzennaben eingesetzten Lagerbuchsen für den Kolbenbolzen, über den der Kolben mit der Pleuelstange des Motors in Antriebsverbindung steht .The invention relates to a light metal piston for internal combustion engines, with bearing bushes for the piston pin inserted in piston pin bores of the pin hubs, via which the piston is in drive connection with the connecting rod of the engine.
The bearing bushes of known light metal pistons, as described, for example, in DE 39 32 563 A 1, are turned sections cut off from a pressed tube. A permanent tight fit of the bearing bushes in the piston pin bore sometimes proves to be problematic. Proceeding from this, the object of the present invention is to improve the tight fit of bearing bushes in the piston pin bore.
This is achieved according to the invention in the case of a light metal piston of the type described in the introduction in that the bearing bush is a bush rolled from a rolled strip or strip-shaped metal material, which has a butt joint which is closed in the pressed-in state, and in that a preferential orientation of the metallurgical grain regions in the circumferential direction is formed in the bush is.
It was found with the invention that signs of loosening of the bearing bush no longer occur when using a rolled bearing bush of the type described above. The durability of the tight fit is considerably increased in the case of rolled bushings with the metallurgical grain regions oriented in the circumferential direction of the bushing. The preferred orientation of the metallurgical grain areas is achieved according to the invention in that the strip-like or band-shaped metal material is oriented in the manufacture of the bearing bush in such a way that the circumferential direction of the bearing bush to be manufactured corresponds to the rolling direction of the metal material. It also proves to be particularly advantageous if the bushing is oriented in the piston pin bore such that the butt joint, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the piston pin, in the half of the piston pin bore facing the shaft end of the piston, preferably in the segment between 130 and 180 degrees, in particular between 130 and 150 degrees is arranged. It also proves to be advantageous if the butt joint comes to rest on the counter pressure side (GDS) of the piston.
Bevorzugte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung ergeben sich aus den Unteransprüchen .Preferred developments of the invention result from the subclaims.

Leichtmetallkolbens mit eingedehnter gerollter Lagerbuchse ; undLight alloy piston with extended rolled bearing bush; and
Figur 2-4 verschiedene Ansichten der Lagerbuchse nach Figur 1.Figure 2-4 different views of the bearing bush of Figure 1.
A bearing bush 4 is inserted into each of the piston pin bores 2, the bearing bush was supercooled by liquid nitrogen and then inserted into the piston pin bore 2. The bearing bush 4 is a rolled bush with a butt joint 6. The bush 4 is made from a rolled strip or strip-shaped bearing material in the form of a CuZn31Si alloy, the metal material being oriented such that the rolling direction is circumferential the bearing bush 4 matches. The rolled bushing 4 has a recess 10 on one butt section 8 and a tongue 14 formed on the other butt section 12 complementary to the recess 10. In the expanded state, the butt joint 6 is closed. The reference numeral 15 designates a recess through which a snap ring can later be lifted, which is inserted into a groove to be screwed in, in order to axially secure the piston pin.
As can be seen in FIG. 1, the bushing is oriented in the piston pin bore 2 such that its butt joint, viewed in the piston pin longitudinal direction, is arranged in the segment 16 between 130 and 150 degrees to the piston longitudinal direction on the counterpressure side GDS.
