Abstract

A stripper assembly used in combination with a metal-extrusion press having a die with a back face on which residue is formed during an extrusion operation, has a blade carrier movable generally parallel to the die back face, a blade pivotal on the carrier and having an edge engageable with the die back face, and a biasing element braced between the blade and the carrier for urging the blade edge with a predetermined force transversely against the die back face. The biasing element is a pack of spring washers. The blade has a back stripper face and the carrier has a confronting front stripper face. One of the stripper faces is formed with a pocket open toward the other of the stripper faces and holding the biasing element. The stripper assembly further has a stop bolt threaded into the carrier, extending through the blade, and having a head engageable with a front face of the blade.

Description

The invention relates to an extruder or pipe and extrusion press with a Raisable and lowerable shaving knife for severing one that is to be extruded Forming feed material, protruding from the tool having scissors.

Such extrusion presses are well known and are used either as direct or operated as indirect presses, i.e. with each other during the pressing process fixed die and transducer or with penetrating, die attached to the front end of the hollow punch. The respective Execution depends, for example, on the materials and weights of the feed. Solid profiles, rods, strips, wires can be used as well as pipes and hollow profiles made of various materials, e.g. aluminum and Manufacture copper and corresponding alloys. When reshaping the A residual material remains, which is normally in front of the tool or the die, but possibly also behind the die, from the pressed product is separated, for which sawing and shearing are common.

From DE-PS 553 782 is - for a standing metal extrusion press - such Known scissors, the cutting knife the exposed residue from the pressed Separates strand. The shear knife is, as with horizontal or lying Extrusion usual, arranged on the counter beam, alternatively stationary on the transducer. However, it has been shown that e.g. because of the scissors game or one Positional deviation in the positions of the scissors and die, it becomes a forced position can come if the cutting plane of the knife is behind the face of the die runs, so that the shear knife either with great force squeezed past the die or even firmly against the die or the tool wedged. Apart from the inevitable damage it is wedged Scissors cannot be ruled out that the existing hydraulic system is insufficient, to move the scissors or the shaving knife freely again. A space in between between the shear knife and the die has something left in front of the die Press material result, which can lead to a malfunction of the press operation.

Das Dokument JP-A-07-323329 zeigt eine Strangpresse mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffs von Anspruch 1.The document JP-A-07-323329 shows an extrusion press with the Features of the preamble of claim 1.

The invention is therefore based on the object, the shear knife of a generic type To design extrusion or pipe and extrusion press so that a perfect cut is always guaranteed and thus the described Disadvantages are avoided.

This object is achieved in that the shear knife against a setting force acting in the direction of the tool is pivotable on Scissor ram is stored. It can be amazingly simple self-adjusting shear knife and thus achieve that during the shearing process you can always work with a zero shear gap, independently a game of scissors that is compensated for as much as a positional deviation in the positioning or adjustment of scissors and die. The hiring force ensures that the cutting knife with its cutting edge is secure the die or the tool comes into contact with the rest of the press separates, whereby it can be pivoted against the impending contact force allows the shear knife to limit in the event of unexpected resistance can dodge.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, a plate spring package brings the required force as long as no cutting force acts on the knife edge. This can be advantageously done in a turn of the shear knife or the scissor ram Arrange so that it is on the one hand against the scissors ram and on the other hand acts against the clipper. In the starting position, i.e. before the cut, the disc spring package thus pushes the pivotable shear knife away Scissors ram. When the part that moves down to the separating cut If the shear knife is placed on the tool or die, it will give way in the opposite direction Direction back against the preload force of the plate spring assembly without however, losing contact with the tool or die. The The cutting edge of the shear knife comes as the shear stroke continues thus free of play for cutting and shears off the rest of the press. As soon as cutting force against the shear knife acts, is also due to the location of its pivot and base on the side of the knife edge facing away from the die one to the disc spring package additional pitch force generated. This hiring force is in one constant ratio to the cutting force and ensures a safe under all circumstances Place the knife edge on the die.

It is proposed according to the invention that a plugged through the shear knife threaded bolt screwed into the scissors tappet of the shear knife - in the direction of the die - limited. This can be done in a simpler way How to achieve that the threaded bolt is not so far in the scissor ram is screwed in that his bolt head is flush with the one facing him Closes the surface of the shear knife, but faces it with some air, this air, e.g. 1.5 mm, starting from the one in the exact position located tool or the die passing operating position of the Shear knife is designed. If the die surface protrudes too far, this is Knife, because also between the one in exact position against the die The knife and the scraper tappet have air, so they are able to dodge. If the die protrudes from the exact position, it gives way so the shaving knife. On the other hand, the shear knife follows when the die stands back from the exact position. In any case, it slides Shear knife with zero shear gap past the die. In the raised or When the scissors are not in use, the shear knife lays down due to the force the plate spring assembly, however, fits snugly on the threaded bolt head. When active This preset air in front of and behind the knife gives off the shearing or cutting process then the area or the freedom of movement for self employment of the Schermessers.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the shear knife can on a Support scissor lifter attached insert bar. In contrast to an alternative Support directly in the scissor ram results in a reduced manufacturing effort, because the complementary to the rounded end of the shear knife, dome-like swivel guide surface of the support for the shear knife can be separated from the actual scissors or their scissors ram and thus independent handy component can be formed.

An extruder 1 shown in the embodiment of FIG. 1 works after the direct pressing process. It comprises a counter beam 2, a tool turret or slide 3, a block transducer 4, a spar 5, a Press cylinder 6 with one acted upon by the latter into the block receiver 4 movable ram 7, a cylinder bar 8, an oil tank 9 with drive and controls and a pair of scissors 10 arranged on the counter beam 2 to separate one from the insert material when forming in front of the tool 3 or its die-forming press rest 11 (see FIGS. 2 and 3).

Fig. 2) bzw. 13b (vgl. Fig. 3) versehen ist. The scissors 10 has an up and down scissors ram 12 with a shear knife 13a (see FIG. 2) or 13b (see FIG. 3). In the 2 is the shear knife 13a on his from the shear knife edge 14 distant end about a pivot pin 15 pivotable in Scissor ram 12 stored. The upper end of the knife is supported directly in the Scissors ram 12, which is why it has a rounded end surface 16 complementary, i.e. concave swivel guide surface 17 of the Scissor ram 12 is present. The pivotable shear knife 13a is under the force of a spring assembly 18, of which it with the setting force F in the direction of the die or the tool 3 is loaded. The spring assembly 18 is in here a recess 19 of the scissor ram 12 is arranged and supported on the one hand against the shear knife 13a itself and on the other hand the bottom 20 of the recess 19 from.

Through the shear knife 13a, a threaded bolt 21 is inserted, with its Threaded section is screwed into the scissors tappet 12. In the shown in Fig. 2 Lowering phase of the scissors ram 12 with the shear knife 13a in the active Insert for separating the press residue 11 protruding from the tool 3 with the shear force FS, the bolt head 22 has some air 23, which is the pitch corresponds to the shear knife 13a, since the shear knife 13a slides along on the die or the tool 3 against the force of the spring assembly 18 dodges away from the tool 3; the contact force F of the spring assembly 18 is so sufficient that the shear knife edge 14 nevertheless is always fed past the tool 3 and thus the pressing residue 11 cuts cleanly. Also the adjustment of the tool 3 directed away The shear knife 13a is limited by being opposed to each other Surfaces of the shear knife 13a and the scissor ram 12 have some air 24 is provided. As soon as after the separating cut, the scissor ram 12 is raised and the shear knife 13a thus comes free from the tool 3, pivots the spring assembly 18 the shear knife 13a for bearing against the bolt head 22.

The mode of operation of the shear knife 13b shown in FIG. 3 and its limits pivotable storage in the scissor ram 12 does not differ of the arrangement of FIG. 2, so that matching components with the same Reference numbers are provided. However, the shear knife 13b is included its rounded surface 16 is not supported directly in the scissors ram 12, but with the interposition of a complementary swivel guide surface 17 having insert bar 25, which is also the base of the Shear knife 13b receiving seat of the scissor ram 12 is fixed. In both cases is due to the pivoting bearing of the shear knife 13a and 13b and the setting force F acting in the direction of the tool 3 ensures that self-employment for the shear knife 13a, 13b always full contact with the die or tool 3 and still an alternative results in a game of zero for the separating cut is observed.
