Definitions
- the subject of the invention is a comfort slipper for ski boot comprising a viscous material flowable retained between two layers of flexible materials and restraint.
- Such a bootie is known from US Pat. No. 4,255,202. parts of this bootie intended to surround the ankle and the malleolar region form a pocket containing a viscous flowable material. Such a bootie is intended to be used in a rigid shoe shell. When the fitting of such a shoe, the pocket deforms by the creep of the viscous material so as to adapt to the morphology of the foot. Such a slipper therefore has the advantage of simultaneously ensuring good foot hold and foot comfort in the shoe. In order to fill the space between the foot and shell, the pocket should be relatively thick. Furthermore, to match the shape of the foot, creep of viscous material is important.
- Such a foam has, in addition to the disadvantage of the shoe previously mentioned, that of hardening in aging.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a slipper presenting immediately and so repetitive feeling of comfort when putting on.
- the boot according to the invention is characterized in that the viscous flowable material is contained and distributed in small elementary volumes in an elastically compressible material.
- each of these small volumes is very deformed quickly while the material resiliently compressible immediately adapts to this deformation, so that the liner fits almost instantly to the shape of the foot, giving that sought-after impression of immediate comfort.
- the viscous material After loosening, the viscous material resumes its initial form under the thrust of the material elastically compressible which surrounds it at least partially. Again, given the small volumes of viscous material, these volumes resume completely their initial shape and this relatively quickly.
- the user finds exactly the same feeling of comfort as during the first fitting. This will also be the case if the shoe is worn by another person.
- the viscous material is preferably contained in cells and the dimensions of these cells are, from preferably of the order of magnitude of the thickness of the slipper.
- the elastically compressible material in which are the alveoli formed is, advantageously, a layer foam intermediate.
- the alveoli pass through the intermediate layer of foam and are closed, on one side, by a layer of foam firm constituting the outer face of the liner and, the other side, with a layer of soft foam, constituting the inner face of the liner.
- Figure 1 shows a sectional view
- Figure 2 shows a piece of the boot seen from side of the inner foam, this foam partially removed.
- the structure shown comprises a layer 1 of firm foam constituting the outer side of the liner, an intermediate layer 2 of medium firm foam with good elasticity and a layer of foam 3, tender and flexible, constituting the inner side of the slipper.
- the foam 3 is a so-called comfort foam.
- the intermediate foam layer 2 is perforated regularly circular holes forming alveoli cylindrical 4.
- the thickness of the intermediate layer 2 is approximately 5 mm.
- the diameter of the cells 4 is about 8 mm and the distance between the cells is about 3 mm.
- the total thickness of the liner is about 10 mm.
- the dimension of the cells 4 is therefore of the order of magnitude of the thickness of the liner.
- the cells 4 are therefore closed on one side by the foam 1 and, on the other side, by the foam 3.
- These cells 4 are filled with a viscous viscous material 5, by example a gel, such as polyisobutene generally charged, in particular with microspheres or powder cork.
- the thickness of the intermediate foam layer can be constant or variable over the extent of the liner.
- the viscous material When putting on, the viscous material deforms relatively slowly, by creep, to adapt to the morphology of the foot, this deformation being however fast enough to give an impression of comfort.
- the viscous material behaves as a rigid material during rapid variations of pressure, as is the case with skiing when taking edge or edge change, thereby ensuring precise skiing.
- the cells 4 resume gradually their initial shape due to elasticity of the foam that surrounds them, putting the liner in its initial configuration each time footwear.
- the alveoli could also be formed in one of the foam layers 1 or 3, that is to say in part of the thickness of the foam. In this case, it there is therefore no intermediate layer.
- the foam intermediate can be molded or thermoformed way to present an anatomical shape, and then perforated to form cells.
