Abstract

The circuit has a bias device, an ignition device and a symmetrical lamp filter between the ignition device and a high pressure gas discharge lamp (GDL) enclosed by at least one reflector. The symmetrical lamp filter has a filter capacitance (C1) parallel to the gas discharge lamp and a choke coil (L1,L2) in each of the leads between the parallel circuit and the ignition device. A capacitor (C2,C3) is connected between the lamp reflector and one or each of the lamp supply lines.

Description

The invention relates to a circuit for operating an AC high-pressure gas discharge lamp for a motor vehicle, with a ballast, an ignition device, a symmetrical lamp filter and a high-pressure gas discharge lamp which is at least partially surrounded by a reflector, the symmetrical lamp filter being arranged between the high-pressure gas discharge lamp and the ignition circuit , with a filter capacity parallel to the high pressure gas discharge lamp and a choke in each of the connecting lines between this parallel circuit and the ignition circuit, and with two lamp supply lines in the input of the ignition circuit.
Such a circuit is described in the unpublished German patent application DE 199 24 097.

The most used high pressure gas discharge lamps in motor vehicles, the D1 and D2 lamps are asymmetrical in terms of their supply connections. The return wire forms a capacity of approx. 2 to 3 with the reflector pF; the reflector forms a similarly large capacity with the vehicle. glitches on the return wire are thus capacitive to the vehicle mass in the On-board electrical system is fed in and can only be filtered very poorly in the igniter.

It is the object of the invention to inject interference pulses into the vehicle mass and to prevent the electrical system.

This object is achieved in that a capacitor between the reflector and one of the lamp supply lines is arranged.

In the following, an embodiment of the circuit according to the invention will be described the drawing are explained in more detail. The only figure shows a ballast for a high pressure gas discharge lamp, as well as an igniter with integrated Lamp filter. The ballast controls and supplies both the high pressure gas discharge lamp (GDL) as well as the primary ignition circuit of the igniter. The ignitor is designed as an asymmetrical superimposed ignitor; this is the Secondary winding of the ignition transformer (ZTR) in one of the lamp leads connected. The igniter also has a symmetrical lamp filter, whereby the symmetrical lamp filter between the high pressure gas discharge lamp (GDL) and the superposition ignition is arranged and a filter capacitance (C1) in parallel to the high pressure gas discharge lamp (GDL) and one choke (L1, L2) in each of the supply lines to this parallel connection.

Der Kondensator (C2) sollte als Y-Kondensator (Y-Kondensatoren sind genormte Funkentstörkondenstoren mit erhöhter elektrischer und mechanischer Sicherheit) ausgeführt sein, weil er die Lampenbetriebsspannung vom Reflektor entkoppeln und so einen ausreichenden Berührschutz gewährleisten sollThe invention is based on the idea of the interference coupled into the reflector return the ignitor before it gets into the vehicle mass. This will a capacitor (C2) between the reflector and one of the lamp supply lines arranged at the entrance of the ignitor. For reasons of personal protection the lamp supply line is preferably selected for this purpose, which during of ignition has the lower potential against vehicle mass. Deriving The malfunctions only work if they are directly in front of the high pressure gas discharge lamp a noise filter is arranged, otherwise the capacitor would Couple disturbances of the return wire directly to the reflector instead of leading them away. The filter capacitance C1 and the chokes L1 and L2 form this interference filter. The Capacitor (C2) should act as a Y capacitor (Y capacitors are standardized radio interference suppression capacitors with increased electrical and mechanical safety) be because he decouple the lamp operating voltage from the reflector and such should ensure adequate protection against accidental contact

It can be particularly advantageous if there is a capacitor (C2, C3) between each the reflector and the two lamp supply lines at the input of the ignition circuit is arranged, since in this case no AC voltage in the Reflector is coupled.
