Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The object of the present Patent application is an improved see-saw, which, in addition to the function for which it was designed, contributes a number of advantages that shall be set out hereinafter, besides others inherent in the arrangement and construction thereof.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The classic game of see-saw is very well known nowadays. Seesaws are usually found fixed in parks and playgrounds, and consist of seats symmetrically arranged at the ends of an elongate body, its centre being pivoted about a support holding it at some distance from the ground, such that children may sit on the end seats and alternately push up with their legs, thereby to move up and down alternatively in each of the end seat or seats, whereas stops provided beneath said seats prevent them from hitting the ground.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The improved see-saw subject of the present registration is characterised because it may be taken to pieces and easily installed anywhere, such as gardens or courtyards and playgrounds in buildings or schools, and because it is extensible and may be installed at different heights, thereby allowing it to be adapted to variously aged people.
  • The device of the invention comprises a number of parts which may be easily assembled using screws, bushes and the like, the parts basically comprising seats which may be symmetrically fixed in several areas along longitudinal tracks, connected through their central areas to a holding part, which is fixed on a rod lying crosswise to those tracks, the ends of which may be held with capacity to turn at different heights on side supports which are in turn interconnected by means of a connecting part located beneath the preceding part holding said tracks.
  • Now, therefore, this arrangement allows the height of the tracks holding the end seats and the distance between the tracks to be varied, and the see-saw therefore adapts to the different heights of variously aged people.
  • In order to complete the description made hereinafter and for an easier understanding of its characteristics, attached to this specification is a set of drawings whose figures show the most significant details of the invention for illustrative and non-limiting purposes.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Figure 1 is an exploded view of the various parts making up the see-saw of the invention.
  • Figures 2 to 11 each show assembling stages to construct the see-saw at the highest extended position, as shown in figure 11.
  • Figures 12 to 19 each show assembling stages aimed at having the construction shown in figure 11 turn into a see-saw at the lowest retracted position, as shown in figure 19.
  • DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to the above figures and in accordance with the references numerals used, the same are seen to show a practical embodiment of the invention, consisting of a see-saw, comprising a number of parts, namely two side supports - -1-, a part -2- connecting the same, a tubular structure -3- consisting of two identical parallel tubes connected at their central areas, two tracks -4-, two double seats -5- and their respective lower stops -5a-, a holding part -6-, a tube -7- to which said holding part is fixed, four handles -8- for the respective seats, six threaded bushes -9- for fixing the connecting part to the side supports, and two bushes -10- for fixing the tube -7- to the side supports -1-, as shown in figure 1.
  • Figure 2 shows how the side supports -1- are fixed through the connecting part -2-, to which end the latter has threaded end lugs -11- each crossing holes -12- in the side supports -1-, fixing being made with the threaded bushes -9-.
  • Figure 3 shows how the tube -7- is arranged crossing the top holes in two rows of facing holes -13- vertically provided in the top central area of the side supports -1-, determining the height of the see-saw.
  • Figures 4 and 5 show how the tube -7- is fixed with bushes -10-, which are fixed at their ends by means of screws and the like, crossing respective holes provided therein, allowing the aforesaid tube -7- to turn.
  • Figure 6 shows how the holding part -6- is fixed over the central connection of the tubular structure -3-, and how the tracks -4- are fixed on that structure, on either side of the connection.
  • Figure 7 shows how the assembled device shown in figure 6 is fixed on the tube -7- arranged on the top of said side supports -1-, so as to lie crosswise to the tracks -4-.
  • Figure 8 shows how the seats -5- are assembled at the ends of the respective tracks -4- by means of tubular protuberances -14- projecting lengthways from said seats -5-.
  • Figure 9 shows how said seats are fixed by means of holes and screws at the outermost area of said tracks in order for there to be a maximum distance between the seats.
  • Figure 10 shows how the handles -10- are press-fitted into respective receptacles -15- suitably arranged in front of each seat.
  • Figure 11 shows the device assembled for the extension or the spacing between the seats to be at their greatest and for the tracks to which the seats are fixed to be at their highest.
  • Figures 12 to 19 each show stages for the construction shown in figure 11 to be turned into another one in which the seats are retracted to lie as close as possible to each other and the guides holding them are arranged at their lowest, as shown in figure 19.
  • Figures 12 and 13 respectively show how the tube -7- is taken off by removing the bushes -10- and a side support -1-, unscrewing the respective bushes -9- in order to be able to arrange said tube -7- with the device assembled thereon within the lowermost holes in the row of holes -13- on the side supports -1-, as shown in figure 14.
  • The side support -1-, which had been taken off, is assembled again by means of the threaded bushes -9- and the tube -7- is fixed in its new position, as respectively shown in figures 15 and 16.
  • The screws fixing the seats -5- in their respective tracks -4- are finally taken out and fixed in a position close to the holding part -6-, as shown in figures 9 and 10, the seats therefore lying closer to each other, as shown in figure 19.
