- Rotary furnace having a furnace drum (3) which is lying mounted in a furnace body (2) in a rotatable and driveable manner and which is closed off on the entry and exit side by means of face plates (4, 5) which form central inlet and outlet orifices and which furnace drum can be heated from the outside by means of a heating chamber (15) which can be influenced by a heating medium and surrounds the drum casing, characterised in that the furnace drum (3) consists of U-profiles (18) which are disposed between the end plates (4, 5) and are arranged in rows adjacent to each other along the drum periphery, which U-profiles are aligned with their open profile side radially inwards and are mutually connected on the longitudinal side in the mutually contacting end regions (19) of the profiled limbs (20) and on the peripheral side by reinforcing parts (23) which are mutually spaced axially with respect to each other and which bridge the remaining longitudinal gaps (21) between the profiled cross pieces (22).
- Rotary furnace as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that rings (24) which surround the U-profiles (18) are provided as reinforcing parts (23).
- Rotary furnace as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterised in that disposed in the U-profiles (28) and inclined with respect to the drum axis (A), are guide walls (25) which are axially offset with respect to each other preferably from profile (18) to profile (18) for the purpose of longitudinally conveying the furnace content which has been received.
- Rotary furnace as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3 having a furnace drum (3) which protrudes on both sides out of the heating chamber (15), characterised in that a closure collar (28) which is disposed coaxially with respect to the furnace drum (3) and surrounds the ends of the U-profiles (18) which protrude out of the heating chamber (15) is inserted in each case between the end plate (4, 5) of the furnace drum (3) and the adjacent closure wall (26, 27) of the heating chamber (15).
