Abstract

The pliers consist of two crossed parts (2, 4) each with a handle part (8, 10) and a jaw (12, 14) There is a spring element between the parts providing a release force to return the parts to the open position. The spring element is so made and attached the handle parts that it also applies torque to the first part about the spring fixing point (26), so that after a manual releas the jaws automatically move to the fully open position.
