Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a push-button mechanism which click to give the user a tactile or auditory indication functioning and which also allows, when it is put in place on a device, to adjust the force to be applied on the pusher to act against the reaction force of a mechanical control member or for close an electrical contact.
  • the invention is particularly adapted to a timepiece, and including a chronograph watch in which pushbuttons provided with such a mechanism make it possible to control the three functions chronographs, namely, start / stop and delivery to zero.
  • a push button is a very simple way of controlling schematically consists of a rod and / or a small hollow cylinder closed to one end, sliding in a through passage of the frame of a device, by being held in the rest position by elastic means which push the head of the rod outward, and being brought into position operation by pressure on the head.
  • Elastic means are mainly formed, either by a coil spring housed in the through passage and supported on the frame, either by a leaf spring or a spring-wire secured to the frame by at least one of its ends and pressing directly and / or indirectly on the end of the opposite rod in the head.
  • this control means can be satisfactory in its simplest form of realization, even though there are many possible variations in the choice of materials and techniques assembly.
  • the elastic means is formed by a metal blade, one end of which is fixed to the bottom of a housing and whose free end which serves to maintain the push-button according to rest, is extended by a curved portion U substantially in the axis of the button.
  • the free branch also elastic is in support against a tenon hunted in the platinum and has at its end an extra thickness that will have to cross the tenon by making a click when pressure is exercised.
  • the aim of the invention is to avoid the drawbacks of this prior art by providing a push-button mechanism with a click, whose means of resilient return in the rest position are of the leaf spring type and in which the force exerted on the pusher head can easily be adjusted.
  • the object of the invention is a pusher mechanism for activating a mechanical or electrical function comprising first and second elements movable relative to one another in planes parallel to a plane support to form a means recall and click through the action of a force F exerted by means of the pusher, characterized in that the first element is formed by a rocker pivoted at one of its ends on a tenon secured to the support, said rocker having two other axes arranged in a triangle with respect to the tenon, and the second elongated general-shaped element comprises a substantially U-shaped cutout defining a base connecting a first and a second arm, said base comprising a guiding means intended to slide along a guiding ramp integral with the support and at least one control means a function to be activated, the first arm of said second element being rigid and having its free end mounted to rotate on a first axis of the rocker and the second arm being flexible having at its free end a notch against which the second supports axis of the rocker in the
  • the configuration of the second element having a elongate shape with a U-shaped cutout obviously means more general any element whose edges of each arm would not be all parallel, only because of assembly problems with other components of the device.
  • the two elements constituting the mechanism are divided into a plate of equal thickness, the rocker then having a shape substantially triangular and the U-shaped element having a sufficiently wide arm to be rigid and an arm close enough to be flexible.
  • the material constituting these two elements may be arbitrary insofar as it has a certain flexibility, but a metal or a metal is preferably chosen metal alloy such as spring steel in applications where a important durability is desired, as is the case for parts watchmaking.
  • the force needed to move from the rest position to the position active can be expected at the geometry design stage of the two elements, such as the relative positions of the two axes and the tenon on the flip-flop, the length of the flexible arm of the second element or the inclination of the outer edge of the spout located at the end of the flexible arm.
  • This last solution, inclination of the outer edge of the beak has the advantage of being able to realize from the same drafts mechanisms requiring forces of different pressure, simply by appropriate machining of this edge of the beak.
  • the force required to move from the rest position to the active position can be adjusted at the end of mounting the mechanism in an apparatus.
  • the mechanism comprises means for adjusting the force F to be applied to the push button, this means being disposed between the edges facing the cut so as to modify the flexion point of the flexible arm or its initial spacing relative to the rigid arm.
  • this adjustment means is formed by a pin with a cylindrical body that can occupy several positions between notches in view formed in parallel edges of the rigid arm and the flexible arm so as to modify the flex point of this last.
  • the pin has a grooved oval body and is arranged between two notched notches arranged in the edges of the flexible arm and the rigid arm to act as eccentric, creating in its orientation an additional reaction force adjustable.
  • This pin can be maintained either by simple wedging between the two arms of the second element, or by gluing or welding.
  • This construction is particularly advantageous for having the same actuating force of the pusher for all devices from the same production line, despite a reaction force that can vary from one mechanism to another, because of the inevitable tolerances of manufacturing, especially when this mechanism is intended to act on a complex kinematic chain.
  • This construction is also advantageous when the same apparatus comprises several push buttons, so that the force to be exerted is the same for all, even if the mechanisms on which they act oppose, by nature, different reaction forces, this is the case in chronograph watches that typically feature an on / off push button and a reset push button that act separately on different mechanisms.
  • the control means located at the base of the second element of the U-shaped mechanism can be confused with the means of guidance and be formed, in the simplest embodiment, by a tenon driven into the base of said second element and oriented towards the support. Equally, this unique means of control and guidance can be formed by an extension of the base curved in a plane perpendicular to the general plane of said second element.
  • the tenon slides along the guide ramp to close an electrical contact or to move a mechanical organ.
  • the ramp guide may be formed by an oblong hole in the support or in an integral element thereof to limit the movement of the tenon between two extreme positions and allow, as we will see in the detailed description that follows, for example to advance a notch a notched crown.
  • the mechanism comprises a means of control and guidance as indicated above, and a second control means for example consisting of an arm extending the base so that two functions can be activated simultaneously or successively.
  • the mechanism according to the invention gives a great freedom in the positioning of the organ to be activated, in relation to the pushbutton that can not be positioned anywhere on the middle of a device for technical or aesthetic reasons.
  • Figure 1 there is shown a mechanism designated by the reference general 1, mounted on a plane support 2 which can be the bottom of a housing whatever, or a mounting element reported therein, such as platinum of a watch movement.
  • the mechanism is represented in position of rest, that is to say when no force is exerted on the push-button 4.
  • On support 2 there is diagrammatically represented by a lever 5 an element mechanical control mechanism that will be actuated by the mechanism 1, and by a contact plate 6, the electrical contact which will be closed, being specified that is possible to have only one function, or more than two functions mechanical / electrical, depending on the design of the device including at least one mechanism according to the invention.
  • Mechanism 1 essentially comprises two elements 10, 20 movable relative to each other, parallel to the support plan 2.
  • a first element 10 is formed by a rocker 11 pivoted on a pin 12 secured to the support 2.
  • This rocker 11 comprises two other axes 14 and 16 arranged in a triangle.
  • FIG. 1 shows the useful parts of the two axes 14 and 16 integral with the rocker 11 are represented above the surface of said flip-flop 11; in a way equivalent these axes can be oriented towards the support plane 2, that is to say in the same direction as the pin 12 pivoting.
  • This first element 10 has therefore globally a triangular shape, whose precise outline will depend on the other components of the set in which this mechanism will be installed.
  • the second element designated by the general reference 20 is lengthened and has in its middle part a cutout 21 in U which delimits a base 22, a first rigid arm 28 and a second flexible arm 32.
  • the portion free 29 of the rigid arm 28 is rotatably mounted on a first axis 14 of the flip-flop 11.
  • Free portion 33 of flexible arm 32 has a notch 34 extended by a nose 36 whose outer edge 38 is outwardly oriented of the cut 21 in U.
  • the base 22 comprises perpendicularly to the mechanism support a means of guide 23 shown in the form of a post 25 driven into the base 22. Equivalently, this guiding means 23 can be formed by folding of an extension of the base 22. This guide means 23 is intended to come slide along a guide ramp 3 secured to the support 2 and schematically represented by a bar fixed by two feet to the support 2.
  • the control means 24 of a mechanical or electrical function can be formed by an extension 26 of the base 22 or by the guiding means himself, such as the tenon 25.
  • the rigidity quality or on the contrary flexibility of the arms can be obtained by any method known to those skilled in the art and particularly in acting on the respective sections of each arm.
  • the second element 20 is cut into a plate of equal thickness, for example a metal sheet, by choosing the respective widths of the two arms so as to have a rigid arm 28 and a flexible arm 32.
  • FIG. 2 there is shown another embodiment of the mechanism which has just been described, when a force F is applied on the rigid arm 22 via the push button 4.
  • This mechanism differs from that shown in Figure 1 in that it comprises a setting means 40 which allows to vary the bending point of the flexible arm 32.
  • This adjustment means is formed by a pin 41 with two heads 42, 44 connected by a cylindrical body 43, as shown in Figure 3A, said pin 41 can occupy several positions between notches 28a, 32a formed in the edges in With regard to example, a mechanism of this type with four positioning notches has been realized and the reaction force has been measured as a function of the position of the pin.
  • the facing edges of the rigid arm 28 and the flexible arm 32 may each comprise only one notch, preferably fluted wall, between which we will insert a pin 45 which both heads 46, 48 are connected by a body 47, of oval section and having splines (see Figure 3B) along its axis.
  • This pin 45 will act as an eccentric and, depending on the orientation that will be given to it between two notches facing, will produce on the flexible arm a preload that will vary the reaction force.
  • FIG. 2 shows the new position occupied by the mechanism above support 2 when a force F is applied via the push-button 2, the rocker 11 executes a rotational movement about its axis 12 by causing the second element 20.
  • the base 22 of this second element 20 comprises a guiding means 23, forced to move rectilinearly by the guide ramp 3, the rigid arm 28 will rotate about the axis 14 which will force the axis out of its notch 34 by clicking and sliding along the edge 38 of the spout 36. According to the initial inclination of the edge 38 of the spout 36, the force F to be exercised will be more or less important.
  • the pin 25 which serves as a guide means 23 will move the mechanical control means 5 represented by a lever, and the extension 26 of the base 2 will close an electrical contact 6.
  • these operations can be simultaneous or successive.
  • a chronograph watch having on both sides of the axis 7 of the winding stem two mechanisms 1a and 1b according to the invention arranged back to back, and serving, for example, via the push-buttons 4a, 4b respectively activate the function "start / stop” and the function "reset” of the chronograph.
  • the kinematic chain given as an example and on which these two mechanisms act, is of the same type as that described in detail in the US Patent 5,113,382 and including in particular two control cams annular 50, 60 suerposées, not shown for clarity in the part comprising the mechanisms 1a, 1b.
  • the mechanism 1a acts on the one hand on an annular cam 50 and on the other part on a set of levers 55, 57.
  • the outer part of the cam 50 is provided with teeth 51 to cause it to rotate one step by means of tenon 25 with each press of the pushbutton.
  • the inner part of the cam 50 is provided with a regular succession of notches 52 and pads 53, each in a number equal to half the number of teeth 51.
  • the reset mechanism 1b corresponds to the same principle, but the corresponding cam 60 has on its outer part a single notch 61 which engages the tenon 25 and a return means (no represented) to its initial position.
  • the inner part of the cam comprises notches 63 which allow the hammers, distributed around the periphery of the dial, to fall on the hearts of reset counters hearts and the hammers are not shown in the figures.
