Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method and a device for interconnecting connection terminals, in particular self-stripping connection terminals.
- interconnect electrical components such as terminal blocks, aligned next to each other.
- These electrical members generally comprise a reception structure which is optionally constituted by a female part designed specifically to receive a type of clamp.
- This structure can be reduced to an opening made in a connecting element, for example of the conductive strip type, to allow the insertion and the establishment of an electrical contact between this connecting element and a clamp.
- interconnection strips Bars of this type are made with the number of clamps desired by the user.
- the documents DE-44 11 306 or FR 2,764,445 reveal such interconnection strips. The use of these bars assumes that the electrical organs to be interconnected have a structure intended to receive a clamp.
- terminal blocks that are designed without a structure to interconnect with neighboring terminal blocks.
- Such terminal blocks are for example blocks that have been designed with a concern for miniaturization.
- terminal blocks having an insulation displacement connection terminal having a stripping and retaining slot are for example blocks that have been designed with a concern for miniaturization.
- the document EP 0 188 034 discloses a device for connecting conductive pins comprising an insulating body delimiting a housing in which is intended to be received an interconnection comb having contact pins whose free ends form in pairs a clamp for gripping a conductive pin.
- connection terminal comprises a conductive connecting piece, with a slot rectilinear stripping and retaining for the souls of the son, which is immobilized in a housing of an insulating housing itself having an opening which extends opposite the stripping slot and retainer to allow insertion wires transversely above the stripping mouth that includes this slot and the immobilization of insulating sheaths son whose core is retained in said slot.
- the slot is longitudinally formed along a section-shaped portion of the conductive part which has, at this level, a hollow polygonal cross-section for translational guidance along the slot of a mouthpiece.
- of external tool designed to slide both on both sides and between the folds defining the edges of the slot, so as to drive the son in this slot in a transverse position relative to it, by guiding the cavity internal part of the profiled portion, said tool tip being guided in translation from the outside of the insulating housing to said cavity by the edges of a hole in said insulating housing for this purpose.
- the method according to the invention is a method of interconnection of connection terminals having a stripping and retaining slot, by means of an interconnection comb comprising a connecting strip from which plugs extend. of contact.
- the free end of the contact pins forms a clamp and the interconnection between two connection terminals is achieved by clamping the edges of the stripping slots with the end of two contact pins. corresponding restraint.
- connection terminal is done without the need to provide a particular structure at the connection terminal.
- the nip is made at the end of the zone of the stripping and retaining slot intended to ensure the retention of a wire to be connected, end being on the side of which is introduced into the slot of the wire. to connect. Indeed, this is an area where good contact is possible and easily accessible since it is expected to access it with the wire to connect.
- connection terminals with stripping and retaining slot and a device for interconnecting connection terminals.
- the interconnection device comprises a link strip from which contact plugs extend; the connecting bar extends in a plane perpendicular to the direction of extension of the plugs; at each connection terminal, extends from the two opposite longitudinal edges of the connecting bar each time a connection plug, and two connection plugs facing each other form a clamp.
- Such a device is easy to achieve. Indeed, it is sufficient to cut and fold a metal strip to achieve such a device. These are simple and common operations. The cost price of such a piece is low.
- the edges of the retaining slot of the conductive part In the clip can take place the edges of the retaining slot of the conductive part.
- the plugs then work away from each other while in the usual interconnection devices, two plugs facing each other work closer to each other.
- a tooth extends each time between two plugs, in the plane of the connecting bar, on each longitudinal edge of the bar.
- the interconnection device according to the present invention may then also include an insulating protection formed by an extruded section of insulating synthetic material which is slipped over the teeth of the two opposite longitudinal edges of the connecting bar.
- An interconnection device is for example intended to come to interconnect stripline and retaining slot connection terminals each placed in an insulating housing having an opening to allow the passage and the translational guidance of an external tool provided to drive a wire between folds delimiting the edges of the stripping slot and retainer.
- a connection terminal is described for example in the patent EP-0 247 360 .
- the plugs are advantageously spaced apart from one another and have a width such that they are guided by the opening provided for the passage and guiding of the external tool and the side of their free end plugs, in the connection position, are preferably placed on either side of the folds defining the edges of the stripping slot and retaining.
- connection terminal an adaptation to allow the connection with a neighboring connection terminal since the connection is made by a orifice which is originally provided for the passage of an external tool for making the connection of a wire to be connected in the connection terminal.
- each plug advantageously has a boss for to take place in the hooking flange in the connection position of the clamp. This allows the connection device to remain in the connected position.
- a connection terminal is described for example in the patent EP-0 265 321 .
- connection strip To allow the length of the interconnection device according to the invention to be adapted to the needs of the user, pre-cuts are advantageously provided on the connection strip.
- the interconnection device according to the invention shown in FIG. 2 consists of two distinct parts: an interconnection comb 2 and an insulating cap 4.
- the interconnection comb 2 is a succession of clamps 6 as shown in FIG. 1.
- This comb 2 is made from a metal strip, for example made of tinned copper alloy, cut and folded.
- the interconnection comb 2 has a connecting bar 8, plugs 10 which in pairs form a clamp 6, as well as teeth 12.
- the connecting bar 8 extends in a plane hereinafter called horizontal plane.
- the pins 10 all extend on the same side of this horizontal plane in a general direction perpendicular to this plane and called vertical direction. It will be considered that the plugs 10 extend vertically downwards.
- the plugs 10 each extend from a longitudinal edge 14 of the connecting bar 8.
- Each plug 10 corresponds to a second plug 10 which forms with this first a clamp 6.
- the two pins 10 face each other and the second plug 10 extends from the longitudinal edge opposite the longitudinal edge from which the first plug 10 extends.
- a tooth 12 Between two plugs 10 extending from the same longitudinal edge 14 of the connecting bar 8, is each time a tooth 12. The latter also starts from the longitudinal edge 14 but extends in the horizontal plane. The shape of the connecting bar 8 with the teeth 12 thus recalls the shape of a succession of H placed next to each other.
- the insulating cap 4 is made of electrically insulating synthetic material. It is an extruded profile having a flat face 16 intended to cover the connecting bar 8 and the teeth 12. The longitudinal edges of the flat face 16 have returns 18 intended to come to grip the bottom end free of teeth 12. This profile can thus slide on the interconnection comb at the connecting bar 8 and teeth 12.
- each plug 10 extends perpendicularly to the connecting bar 8 from a longitudinal edge 14 of it. From the longitudinal edge 14, each plug 10 has a guide face 20, a narrowing 22, a jaw zone 24 and a curved end 26 (Figure 6).
- the guide face 20 is a flat face extending perpendicular to the connecting bar 8 and the horizontal plane.
- a boss 28 is provided in the plane of the guide face 20 on an edge thereof.
- the constriction 22 is in a plane inclined with respect to the guide face 20. It extends towards the second plug 10 forming with the plug described here a clamp 6. This narrowing zone 22 has a smaller width compared to the guide face 20.
- the jaw zone 24 forms an angle of a few degrees with the perpendicular to the horizontal plane so that the two jaw zones 24 facing each other move towards each other away from the connecting bar 8.
- the two jaw zones 24 are intended to sandwich a conductive part to be interconnected.
- FIG. 4 shows an interconnection device such as that described above as well as two connection pieces 30 to be electrically connected. These connecting pieces 30 take up the characteristics, with regard to their shape, of connection pieces already known from patents of the prior art, such as the document EP-0 247 360 or EP-0 265 321 .
- Each piece 30 has a stripping and retaining slot 32 which is rectilinear and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the profiled connecting piece 30. It is for example obtained from a flat side by stamping resulting in a cut, then folding and possibly realization of localized thinning.
- the connecting piece 30 has here a hollow polygonal cross section which corresponds to a U having a base 34 and two branches 36 whose free ends have been obliquely and also folded towards one another.
- the free end of each folded portion 38 forms an edge of the stripping and retaining slot 32. These portions 38 are eventually thinned gradually towards the slot 32.
- the stripping and retaining slot 32 has at one of its ends a stripping mouth 40.
- the latter is obtained by symmetrical oblique cutting of the folded portions 38 at their ends. This oblique cutout makes it possible to obtain a flared mouthpiece whose edges form an edge making it possible to start a sheath of a wire pushed into the mouthpiece.
- the electrical contact between a plug 10 and a connection piece 30 is at the edges of the slot 32, on the side of the mouth 40, in a zone of the slot 32 intended to to achieve the retention of an electrical wire to connect.
- a jaw zone 24 of the plug 10 is then inside the hollow polygonal section profile while the jaw zone 24 of the plug 10 associated therewith is outside this section.
- the presence of curved ends 26 on the pins 10 facilitates the spacing of the pins 10 which is caused when the contact between the plug 10 and the connecting piece 30 is established.
- Figures 6 and 7 show the connecting pieces 30 of Figures 4 and 5 in place in an insulating housing 42 of a terminal block.
- the latter corresponds to a terminal block as described in the patent European No 0 265 321 .
- This housing 42 comprises an insertion orifice 44 for the passage of a blade of an external tool for making the connection of a wire at the connection piece 30.
- This introduction port 44 is provided with flanges fasteners 46 for receiving movable fasteners carried by the tool end as described in the patent EP-0 265 321 .
- the clamps 6 of the interconnect comb 2 pass through the insertion orifice 44 to make the electrical connection between two connecting pieces 30 neighbors.
- the width of the guide face 20 of each plug 10 as well as the spacing between two plugs 10 of a clamp 6, a spacing which corresponds substantially to the width of the connecting rod 8, are adapted to this insertion orifice 44. to allow a good guidance of the clamp 6 during a connection.
- the boss 28 of each guide face 20 is placed such that, when the connection between the plug 10 and the corresponding connecting piece 30 is made, the boss 28 comes take place just below the snap flange 46. This then allows the maintenance of the interconnect comb 2 on the terminal block.
- the interconnection device described above is particularly simple to achieve. Indeed, the cutting and folding operations are operations that are automatable and commonly used. Having an insulating cap 4 coming on the interconnect comb also facilitates the realization of the interconnection device.
- interconnection device described above Another advantage of the interconnection device described above is that it can take place on terminal blocks that do not have a particular structure for receiving an interconnection comb. Indeed, the device described is connected to an orifice having for first function the passage of a tool for making the connection of a wire to the connection piece located inside the terminal block.
