Description

From US-A-4,052,838 is an apparatus for packaging Stacking flat-shaped, disc-shaped products, namely potato chips, in tubular packaging containers known. On a downward sloping vibrating trough a continuous flow of products promoted. By means of two im Distance from each other over the trough arranged lances, which product stacks are formed alternately. A separated stack slides into one of a star shape on one Turnstile arranged tubes. Once this is filled the turnstile becomes a step around a horizontal axis turned further. In a subsequent station, the pipe a container closed on one side with a bottom. When the turnstile is turned further, the filled container becomes parked standing on a conveyor belt.

Because the products are first filled into a tube and the Container is slipped over the pipe, the container must be one have a larger diameter than actually to hold the products would be required. When the stack slides into the tube can tip the front slices of the stack, causing interference leads because there is no longer space for the whole stack in the pipe Has. This also results in underweight packs. These have to be eliminated.

Potatoe-Chips, horizontal in Förderrichtung A angeliefert. On a conveyor belt 1, a strand 2 is joined together from the flat side lying, upright, disc-shaped products 3, e.g. Potato chips, delivered horizontally in conveying direction A. The strand 2 is vertical by means of a linear motor 4 movable separation sword 5 held back. On Slide 6 is by means of a linear motor 7 along a guide 8 parallel to the conveying direction A between one Position in which he is at the level of the sword 5 and a position immediately adjacent to the open end of the tubular packaging container 9. The slide 6 is by means of of a further linear motor 10 vertically displaceable.

On a guide 15 parallel to the conveying direction A is a Carriage 16 is displaceable by means of a linear motor 17. The Carriage 16 carries two rod-shaped guide means 18. These are on both sides of the deposited stack 19 of products 3 arranged and in the container 9 in its filling station 20 can be inserted up to the container bottom 21. In an outside the horizontal center plane 22 of the stack 19 arranged Longitudinal bore 23 of the guide means 18 is a cylindrical Rod 24 pivotally mounted. With the rod 24 is another front end a holding plate 25 rigidly connected at right angles protrudes from the rod 24. At the back end is at the Rod 24 a lever 26 attached. The free end of the two levers 26 is via a joint rod 27 with a cross rod 28 connected, which are attached to the carriage 16 by means of another Linear motor 29 is vertically displaceable. Let it through the two holding plates 25 from the one in FIGS. 3a to 3c shown first position, in which they in the Front view protrude into the cross section of the stack 19, in swivel a second position in which they are at least partially congruent with the cross section of the guide means 18 are.

The base of potato chips 3 is usually oval, like this is shown in Figures 3a and 3b. When filling in one circular container 9 with chips 3 standing upright therefore 19 space for the guide means on both sides of the stack 18 for entering the container 9 together with the stack 19. The chips 3 can e.g. be cylindrical, as in Figure 1 shown, or saddle-shaped.

The containers 9 become the filling station 20 by means of a transport device 30 fed. In the illustrated embodiment this is a horizontal, transverse to the conveying direction A running axis 31 rotatable in steps of 90 ° Star wheel 32. The wheel 32 are at regular angular intervals Receptacles 33 attached to the container 9, the longitudinal axes of which are radial run to axis 31. In a loading station 34 each an empty container 9 in the relevant receptacle 33 of the side inserted by means of a plunger, not shown. The stack 19 is filled in the filling station 20. The filled container is in a subsequent unloading station 35 9 by a further plunger from the receptacle 33 a conveyor belt pushed out.

In operation, the device described works as follows: In the initial position, the separation sword 5 is lowered and holds the strand 2 back. The slider 6 is raised and on the Height of the sword 5 withdrawn. The holding plate 25 are in the position shown in Figures 3a to 3c and the Carriage 16 withdrawn so far that the plate 25 almost rest on the foremost product 3 of the strand 2. Now it will Sword 5 raised and the carriage 16 in the conveying direction A. the height of the stack 19 shifted. Be in this position simultaneously actuates motors 4, 10, so that sword 5 and the slider 6 are lowered into the strand 2 and the stack Disconnect 19 from strand 2. Then slide 6 and the carriage 16 moved together in the conveying direction A until the holding plates 25 reach the bottom 21. The tiles 25 are lowered by means of the motor 29 and the carriage 17 in the basic position is retracted. The star wheel 32 rotates by 90 ° and the slide 6 moves back to the starting position. To Swiveling the plates 18 back starts a new filling cycle, meanwhile the filled container 9 in the unloading station 35 pushed out and a new container 9 in the loading station 34 is inserted into the relevant receptacle 33.

As shown in Figure 3b, the rod-shaped guide means 18 be crescent-shaped. This enables one particularly good guidance of the stack 19. The rods 18 can also omitted and the rods 24 themselves as guide means be used. Instead of the linear motors 4, 7, 17, 29 can other lifting devices, e.g. Pneumatic cylinder units used become. However, linear motors are used for the lifting elements 7, 17 preferred because it allows easier synchronization of the movement enable. If the separating sword 5 is immediately on the open end of the container 9 is arranged under Circumstances of the slide 6 with its actuation are eliminated.

The device described enables safe filling the container 9. A tip over of the foremost products 3 when filling is avoided. The products 3 are handled gently. Due to the direct filling of the container 9, the stress of products 3 reduced by friction. The device is simple in construction and allows filling from one horizontal strand 2 without deflections, particularly with potato chips are problematic because of malfunctions when redirected can occur in the formation. The filled containers 9 are less voluminous than e.g. Bag of loosely packed potato chips, because the chips are ordered. Because the inside diameter of the Container 9 only needs to be slightly larger than the longitudinal dimension the chips 3, the packaging volume is minimized and it there is significantly less transport damage.
