This is particularly advantageous within the architecture of the present invention because it is only sensitive to frequency and phase information and not to amplitude or envelope information thus reducing the amount of information which needs to be output (and thus stored) within the phase Look-Up Table (LUT) 52. Furthermore, a multi-acc frac-N PLL provides direct conversion from the digital to the analogue domain thus removing the need for a conventional DAC.
