Claims (21)

  1. A centrifuge (1) comprising an enclosure (5), a rotor (6) disposed therein and means (8) for driving the rotor in rotation, said drive means being pneumatic drive means, characterised in that the centrifuge comprises a feed circuit for supplying said pneumatic drive means with pressurised gas, which feed circuit is designed to be connected to a source (49) of pressurised gas, and in that the centrifuge comprises a gas purification unit (10), an inlet of said unit being connected to an outlet (64) for drawing off gas from the enclosure (5), and an outlet of said unit being connected to an intake device (21) controlled by the pressurised gas supplying the pneumatic means (8) for driving the rotor in rotation.
  2. A centrifuge according to claim 1, characterised in that the pneumatic means for driving the rotor in rotation comprise a turbine (19).
  3. A centrifuge according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that said outlet of the purification unit is connected to the feed circuit for supplying the pneumatic means (8) for driving the rotor in rotation with pressurised gas.
  4. A centrifuge according to claim 3, characterised in that the intake device comprises a Venturi injection system (21) comprising a drive fluid injector (22) designed to be connected to said source (49) of pressurised gas, a driven fluid inlet (24) connected to said outlet of said purification unit (10), and a drive fluid and driven fluid outlet (23) connected to the pneumatic drive means (8) for the rotor.
  5. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that it comprises cooling means (11) for cooling the atmosphere in the enclosure.
  6. A centrifuge according to claim 5, characterised in that the cooling means for cooling the atmosphere in the enclosure comprise means (11) for introducing a cooling gas into the enclosure.
  7. A centrifuge according to claim 6, characterised in that the means for introducing a cooling gas into the enclosure comprise a cooling gas outlet (66) disposed under the rotor for directing the cooling gas theretowards.
  8. A centrifuge according to claim 6 or claim 7, characterised in that the means for introducing a cooling gas comprise a Ranque tube (30), a cold outlet (33) of which is connected to an inlet (66) of the enclosure.
  9. A centrifuge according to claim 8, characterised in that an inlet (32) of said Ranque tube (30) is connected to said pressurised gas feed circuit.
  10. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the centrifuge (1) comprises a decontaminating gas source (50) connected to an inlet (66) of the enclosure (5).
  11. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the purification unit comprises at least one filter (10).
  12. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the purification unit (10) comprises at least one chemical gas treatment device.
  13. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the enclosure is leakproof.
  14. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterised in that the centrifuge comprises a pneumatic device (25) for braking the rotor (6) connected to said pressurised gas feed circuit.
  15. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that the pressurised gas feed circuit comprises a time-delay valve (57).
  16. A centrifuge according to any one of claims 1 to 15, characterised in that the centrifuge comprises a door (4) movable between an open position allowing access to the inside of the enclosure (5) and a closed position, in that the centrifuge additionally comprises a pneumatic device (16) for locking the door in its closed position, and in that the locking device is connected to the pressurised gas feed circuit.
  17. A centrifuge according to claim 16, characterised in that the locking device comprises a first bolt (37) movable between a locked position and an unlocked position of the door (4), the first bolt being integral with the rod of a first pneumatic jack (40) connected through the intermediary of at least one individual duct (52, 69) to said pressurised gas feed circuit, and in that the locking device (16) comprises a switching valve (46) for selectively switching the individual duct or ducts to the pressurised gas feed circuit.
  18. A centrifuge according to claim 17, characterised in that the feed circuit comprises an automatic locking valve (44) which itself comprises a shut-off (45) movable between an open position and a closed position of the automatic locking valve, in that one outlet of said locking valve (44) is connected to said switching valve (46), in that said shut-off (45) of the automatic locking valve is in the open position when the door (4) of the centrifuge is in the closed position and in the closed position when the door (4) is in the open position, and in that said switching valve (46), when at rest, connects said outlet of the automatic locking valve (44) to the first jack (40), such that the first bolt (37) is pushed towards its locked position.
  19. A centrifuge according to claim 18, characterised in that the automatic locking valve (44) is designed to be connected permanently to said source (49) of pressurised gas.
  20. A centrifuge according to claim 15 in conjunction with claim 17 or claim 18, characterised in that said time-delay valve (57) is connected to an outlet of said automatic locking valve (44).
  21. A centrifuge according to claim 15 in conjunction with any one of claims 17 to 20, characterised in that the locking device (16) comprises a second bolt (38) movable between a position in which the first bolt (37) is blocked in its locked position and a position in which the first bolt is released, and in that the second bolt (38) is integral with the rod of a second pneumatic jack (41) connected permanently to an outlet of said time-delay valve (57).
