Auch Rohre aus anderen Kunststoffen wie beispielsweise aus Polyethylen bieten nicht die erforderliche Haftung eines direkt angeschäumten Polyurethanpfropfens, insbesondere dann nicht, wenn Feuchtigkeit an die Verbindungsstelle der beiden Teile gelangt. - Insemination catheter for animals, especially pigs, with an elongated, flexible injection tube that is fitted with a soft elastic guide stopper at its front end which is inserted into the animal's uterus, characterised in that the injection tube (11) is mechanically roughened in the connection area (15) toward the guide stopper (13) and that the guide stopper (13) is made of polyurethane foam and foamed directly onto the mechanically roughened surface (16) of the injection tube in the connection area (15).
- Insemination catheter as in claim 1 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is made of polypropylene.
- Insemination catheter as in claim 1 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is made of polyethylene.
- Insemination catheter as in claim 1 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is made of a mixture of polyethylene and polypropylene.
- Insemination catheter as in claim 1 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is made of a co-extrudate of polypropylene and polyethylene and their mixtures.
- Insemination catheter as in claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is roughened by grinding in the area of the connection (15).
- Insemination catheter as in claims 1 to 6 characterised in that the injection tube (11) has at least one recess or groove in the area of the connection (15).
- Insemination catheter as in one of the claims 1 to 7 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is subjected to a corona treatment and/or flamed additionally to the mechanical roughening of its surface (16) in the area of the connection.
- Insemination catheter as in the claims 1 to 8 characterised in that the depth of roughness (s) of the mechanically roughened surface (16) is between 0.05 and 0.5 mm.
- Insemination catheter as in one of the claims 1 to 9 characterised in that the average depth of roughness (s) of the mechanically roughened surface (16) is between 0.2 and 0.3 mm.
- Method for manufacturing an insemination catheter for animals, especially according to one of the claims 1 to 10 characterised by the following steps:mechanical roughening of an elongated, flexible injection tube (11) in the area of the connection (15) at the end (12) which forms the connection;insertion of the injection tube (11) with its mechanically roughened connecting area (15) in a mould, and injection of a foaming and solidifying polyurethane compound in the mould to form a guide stopper (13) foamed directly onto the injection tube (11).
- Method as in claim 10 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is chemically pre-treated after mechanical roughening and before insertion in the mould.
- Method as in claim 12 characterised in that the pre-treatment consists of corona treatment or flaming of the injection tube (11) in the area of the connection.
- Method as in one of the claims 11 to 13 characterised in that the injection tube (11) is roughened by grinding around the circumference in the area of the connection (15) before inserting in the mould.
- Method as in one of the claims 11 to 14 characterised in that the mechanical roughening is done using a grindstone, sanding disc or similar.
- Method as in one of the claims 11 to 15 characterised in that the injection tube (11) has at least one recess or groove at the end (12) forming the connecting area (15).
