Description
The invention relates to a microwave coupling element for coupling an input line with a Output line, each a fixed Have line resistance.
Coupling elements and bandpass filters implemented by means of a parallel pair of strip lines are common in microwave technology and are described in the literature. Stripline coupling elements of this type have two parallel, galvanically decoupled striplines, each with a length of λ / 4, where λ is the effective nominal wavelength of the microwaves to be transmitted with the coupling element. With the help of the Richards transformation, for example described in Zinke, Brunswig Textbook of radio frequency technology ", 1990, pages 206 to 211, such coupled λ / 4 lines can be described by an equivalent circuit diagram which contains a λ / 4 coaxial line arranged between two capacitors with a characteristic impedance Z L. An ideal capacitive coupling element with minimal insertion loss can be realized if the characteristic impedance Z L of the line in the equivalent circuit diagram is equal to the characteristic impedance of the cables connected on both sides, in most cases 50 Ω. The coupling element characteristic impedance is adjusted by selecting a suitable conductor width and a suitable conductor spacing Line impedance of 50 Ω and for use in a radar frequency range of approximately 24 GHz are then required, for example in the case of a microwave substrate with a dielectric constant ε r = 3.0 and a substrate thickness of 250 μm, which have a width of approx. 90 µm and nd have a distance of about 60 µm from each other. Such structural widths and distances are problematic by means of inexpensive standard printed circuit board technology.
Ein wie in Anspruch 1 definiertes erfindungsgemäßes
Mikrowellen-Koppelelement weist einen Koppelabschnitt
mit einer ersten mit der Eingangsleitung
verbundenen Streifenleitung und einer zweiten, zu
der ersten Streifenleitung parallelen und zu dieser
galvanisch entkoppelten zweiten Streifenleitung
optimale Leiterbreite beziehungsweise Leiterabstand,
und wobei zur Kompensation der daraus resultierenden
Fehlanpassung wenigstens eine Transformationsleitung
vorgesehen ist, deren Wellenwiderstand
kleiner als der Leitungs-Wellenwiderstand ist. Der
Koppelabschnitt mit größerem Wellenwiderstand läßt
sich mit größeren Strukturbreiten und -abständen
der beiden parallelen Streifenleitungen und daher
mittels preiswerter Standard-Leiterplattentechnologie
realisieren. So kann ein sehr preisgünstiges
Mikrowellen-Koppelelement für den Einsatz im Radarwellenlängenbereich
vor allem für die Massenfertigung
zum Beispiel im Automobilsektor bereitgestellt
werden. Der aus den größeren Strukturbreiten resultierende
zu hohe Wellenwiderstand des Koppelabschnitts
im Ersatzschaltbild wird durch die hinzugefügte(n)
Transformationsleitung(en) kompensiert. An inventive as defined in
According to one embodiment, two transformation lines can be provided between the input line or the output line and the coupling section are arranged. The use of two transformation lines has the advantage that to compensate for a certain higher coupling section wave resistance each not so small transform line impedance sufficient so that a lesser Width of the transformation line is sufficient. The advantageous width of a strip line is by transverse resonance effects and the like upwards limited.
The two transformation lines preferably have a length of between λ / 4 and λ / 8, which area a favorable compromise between the smallest possible overall length of the component and electrical parameters that are as favorable as possible represents.
Point at a line impedance of 50 Ω the transformation lines advantageously one Characteristic impedance between 30 and 40 Ω.
According to a further variant of the invention Microwave coupling element is only a transformation line provided a length of approximately λ / 4 and a wave impedance accordingly half of the line impedance can. This variant of the invention has the Advantage of a short component length.
The pair of striplines preferably has one Length of λ / 4. The width of each of the two Strip lines is preferably between 150 µm and 250 µm, the distance preferably is between 100 µm and 200 µm. These dimensions can be easily and inexpensively using standard circuit board technology realize.
The insertion loss is preferably at Nominal frequency of the coupling element less than 1 dB. The microwave coupling element according to the invention has preferably a bandpass frequency characteristic on. It is particularly desirable a high blocking attenuation for in relation to the nominal frequency low frequencies to avoid interference from digital control pulses and their higher harmonics to suppress.
The microwave strip line according to the invention has the further advantage that due to the greater distance between the two strip lines of the Coupling section increases the dielectric strength is.

Figur 1 zeigt ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel eines
erfindungsgemäßen Mikrowellen-Koppelelements. Lediglich
schematisch dargestellt sind die Eingangsleitung
1 und die Ausgangsleitung 2, die jeweils
einen festgelegten Leitungs-Wellenwiderstand RL,
beispielsweise 50 Ω aufweisen. In der Mitte des
Koppelelements ist ein Koppelabschnitt mit zwei
galvanisch voneinander entkoppelten parallelen Mikrostreifenleitungen
Frequenzen.Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a microwave coupling element according to the invention. The
Die Abmessungen der Transformationsleitungen 4,4'
müssen unter Berücksichtigung einer maximal möglichen
Strukturbreite der Mikrostreifenleitungen, die
durch Resonanzeffekte beschränkt ist, und einer
wünschenswerten kompakten, insbesondere kurzen Bauweise
des gesamten Bauelementes gewählt werden. Eine
Länge der Transformationsleitungen 4,4' im Bereich
zwischen λ/4 und λ/8, insbesondere 0,65 x λ/4
hat sich dabei als vorteilhaft herausgestellt. The dimensions of the

Figure 3 shows the measured frequency response of a Example of a microwave coupling element according to the invention. The nominal frequency is approximately 24 GHz. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the coupling element shows a distinctive bandpass characteristic with a wide passage maximum in the range between about 21 and 27 GHz. At lower frequencies there is a clear barrier damping, which are used to suppress digital control signals and their harmonics evoked Radio frequency interference signals is desired.
One recognises, that the insertion loss is close to the nominal frequency of 24 GHz is less than 0.5 dB.
Figure 5 shows the simulated frequency response of a coupling element according to the invention with a coupling section, whose microstrip lines one Length of 2.5mm, width of 0.1mm and one Have a distance of 0.23 mm as a solid Line and represented with circle symbols. In turn the bandpass characteristic can be clearly recognized. With dotted line and triangular symbols as a reference example, a conventional coupling element without transformation line with 2.5 mm long and 0.1 mm wide lines that are spaced of 0.06 mm from each other. One recognises compared to the coupling element according to the invention much flatter frequency characteristic.
Nach einem Beinahe-Nulldurchgang im Bereich der Nennfrequenz von 24 GHz läuft die durchgezogene Kurve wieder nach außen, was wiederum die schon in Figur 5 dargestellte Bandpass-Struktur zeigt.6 shows simulations of the complex reflection factor for the two coupling elements of figure 5 shown. The coupling element according to the invention is again a solid line and circular symbols, the conventional coupling element by a dotted line and triangular Symbolizes symbols. Both curves run in Clockwise, which means they start at 1 near 360 ° at idle point. While the locus of the Coupling element dimensioned according to the prior art (dotted) evenly inside running (recognizable by the almost equidistant Marker points), the locus of the invention Coupling element longer along the outer circle, then quickly (within two Marker points) to go inside. After a near zero crossing in the range of the nominal frequency of The solid curve runs again at 24 GHz outside, which in turn is the one already shown in FIG Bandpass structure shows.
With the microwave coupling element according to the invention are favorable electrical parameters using large and thus inexpensive to manufacture structural dimensions possible.
