Schließtechnisch günstig ist es, wenn der Sperrbalken schrägflankengesteuert bei Schließdrehung aus der Sperrnut herausverlagert wird. Dies setzt jedoch das Vorhandensein des richtig seitenprofilierten Schlüssels voraus. Herstellungstechnisch günstig ist es, wenn die Schlüssel-Seitenprofilierung von quer zur Schlüssellängsachse verlaufenden Bogenkerben ausgebildet sind. Letztere können durch Fräsen hergestellt werden. Die Bogenkerbe folgt dann dem Verlauf eines Scheibenfräsers, so daß die Erstellung solcher Bogenkerben auf an sich bekannten Schlüsselfräsmaschinen erfolgen kann. Ein minimaler Verschleiß der Abtastköpfe auch bei langer Gebrauchsdauer ergibt sich dadurch, daß die quer zur Schlüsselkanalachse verlaufenden Scheitellinien der Abtastköpfe dem Verlauf der Bogenkerben angepaßt sind. Es findet also keine punktförmige, sondern linienförmige Berührung beim Einordnen der Sperrelemente statt verbunden mit dem zuvor erwähnten verringerten Verschleiß. Weiterhin ist hervorzuheben, daß die Verlagerungsebene der Sperrbalken beabstandet zu einer Diametralebene verläuft. Ferner ist es erfindungsgemäß, noch von Vorteil, an der Schlüsselspitze dachförmig zueinanderstehende, in die Schlüsselbreitflächen auslaufende Steuerschrägen vorzusehen. Diese gestatten ein leichtgängiges Einführen des Schlüssels in den Schlüsselkanal. Eine alternative Lösung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß die Sperrbalken Einstecköffnungen aufweisen für die Sperrvorsprünge ausbildenden Einsteckstifte. Dies führt zu einer einfachen und kostensparenden Herstellung. Für die Sperrvorsprünge sind lediglich die Einsteckstifte in die Einstecköffnungen des Sperrbalkens einzusetzen. Bei reihenförmig hintereinander angeordneten Einstecköffnungen am Sperrbalken ist es dabei möglich, die Einstecköffnungen wahlweise mit Einsteckstiften zu bestücken. Damit die Einsteckstifte in ihren Einstecköffnungen arretiert sind, können die Einsteckstifte in den Einstecköffnungen im Klemmsitz eingesetzt werden.
