Abstract
Description
angegebenen Gattung. The invention relates to a warming crucible in the preamble of
Holding crucibles of the type of interest here serve, for. B. in aluminum foundries for Motor vehicle parts for holding liquid aluminum from a melting furnace coming, e.g. fed with the help of transport pans and in a holding pan on one Preselected temperature is ready for the casting process. Except for that Cast aluminum heaters of this type are also used for other liquid metals, used in particular non-ferrous metals, heavy metals and alloys thereof.
The molten metal is mostly directly and free from the transport pans Poured into the holding crucible. Therefore, the gradual filling of the Crucible numerous turbulences and eddies with the result that the metal melt with a large surface is exposed to the outside atmosphere and therefore large Amounts of harmful gases, especially hydrogen, can absorb. An increased Hydrogen uptake can e.g. to undesired slag formation in the holding crucible lead and is also with regard to the later casting process in general undesirable. The same applies to the absorption of other gases.
The same disadvantages arise if the metal melt is poured into the Holding crucible through a filter housing provided with a ceramic filter or the like is directed. Therefore, it has already been suggested to the outlet of the filter housing to connect a pipe and its mouth opening during the filling process up to the Bring the crucible bottom in order to avoid turbulence and that with the external atmosphere to keep the surface of the melt small. Thereby On the one hand, however, there is a cumbersome handling because the filter housing in front and up and down as well as after each filling process with a hoist above the crucible must be moved back and forth to the space above the crucible at the foundry for the ladles or the like used to remove the liquid metal freely do. On the other hand, the pipes connected to the filter housings are subject to the great heat of e.g. 720 ° C and more a great wear and tear due to the continuous movements of the filter housing a considerable risk of damage, so that their downtimes are short and frequent repairs are required.
Warming crucibles are known to avoid these problems (DE-U-296 00 045, EPA-A-0 133 419, GB-A-578 977), which has a permanently installed, have upwardly open filling channel, which is in a lower area in the receiving space empties. This has the advantage that the holding crucible is integrated Filling channel that is made of the same material as the holding crucible and from one Pieces can be made with this and when using the holding crucible is not at risk of damage. In addition, in the Holding crucible integrated filling channel a largely turbulence-free filling of the crucible, see above that the gas absorption during the filling process is low.
The holding crucible of the type mentioned at the outset is particularly advantageous Way of a refractory material such. B. graphite (DE-U 296 00 045, Fig. 1 and 2) and is made with refractory clay as a binder in a so-called isostatic pressing process manufactured. When using such materials, however, there is the further problem that a filling of the holding crucible with a molten metal because of the desired small diameter of the filling channel is not easily possible and the cross-sectional shape of the filling channel essentially only with that for its manufacture used drilling tool can be influenced.
The invention is therefore based on the object, the holding crucible at the beginning to designate the genus so that it is easily filled on the one hand, on the other hand but can still be easily provided with a filling channel, the one has largely freely selectable cross-sectional shape.
The filling channel designed according to the invention has the advantage that it is open simple way of connecting a filter housing serving to feed the molten metal as well as a largely freely selectable design of the cross-sectional course in its allows lower area. Further advantageous features of the invention emerge from the subclaims.
kreisrund und der Mantel 2 tassenartig ausgebildet.1 and 2 contains a conventional, made of refractory holding crucible
a
According to the invention, the holding crucible is provided with a permanently installed filling channel 4,
which essentially extends from the
In a lower area, the filling channel 4 opens into the
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the filling channel 4 a gradually decreasing cross-section downwards. This will be in the area the mouth opening 8 so-called bubbling effects avoided, which results in a highly calm flow.
The downward growing, e.g. conical cross-sectional constriction
the filling channel 4 is preferably obtained in that the approach 6 initially with a
cylindrical bore 10 (Fig. 1) and then into this e.g. tubular
Insert 11 (FIG. 5) is used, which has an inner cross section of the

mit einer schräg verlaufenden Stirnfläche 12 versehen wird.3 to 5 show, the
5) versehen ist.5 shows, the holding crucible according to the invention can open at its upper end
simply connected to a
In use, the holding crucible is inserted with
If required, a filter (not shown) can also be placed in the
The
The two
An advantage of the holding crucible described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5 is that
the liquid molten metal or the like supplied by means of transport pans, in the
The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments described, which are based on can be modified in many ways. This applies especially to those from the Drawings apparent location and design of the filling channel, which is also different could be designed and arranged. For example, it would be possible to fill the filling channel in to accommodate an approach projecting inward into the holding space of the holding crucible or to be arranged at an angle to the central axis of the receiving space. Besides that would be it is possible to manufacture the filling channel independently of the holding crucible and subsequently to connect with this. Finally, it is understood that the various characteristics of the Invention also in combinations other than those shown and described can be used.
