Definitions
- the invention relates to movable armrests for computer workstations, according to the preamble of claim 1. Long-term and precise (mouse) work should be supported. But other activities that can be carried out at the table level are also supported.
- a forearm support for operating the so-called “mouse” is known.
- This known forearm support has a holder 1 for clamping onto a table top and a rotating mechanism. If the forearm lies on this known forearm support and if a mouse is to be moved linearly towards the swivel joint, for example, this known armrest counteracts the movement of the forearm by the armrest inevitably moving the forearm along a circular path despite an intended straight-ahead movement. The user of the armrest must try to compensate for the "misleading" by the known armrest. This known armrest is therefore unsuitable.
- DE 29 10 855 Al describes a typewriter type writing support for the hands.
- a long, oval, rounded support bracket for supporting the arm joints when operating a typewriter keyboard is arranged between two forked brackets.
- the brackets are equipped with screw clamps to attach the typewriter support to the desk.
- the design transmits kinetic energy to the table and may interfere with the monitor and therefore requires stable desks, which must even be shaped appropriately.
- the support interferes with the body of the worker and takes up space. It looks optically modest because it is large. When moving, there is friction on the support against the arms, which one feels annoying. The moving joints need to be serviced. It is obvious that this typewriter writing support is only used to operate a typewriter keyboard and is neither suitable nor intended for the use of a computer mouse.
- a resilient support device for the elbows when typing is known.
- a support shell for an elbow is provided on one side and a clamping device on the opposite side for vertically attaching the resilient telescopic part to the seat of a seat.
- the construction should start from the seat of the chair so that every time the chair is moved, a movement is transferred to the arm. Problems with coping with the height differences between the chair and table are also to be expected, and only special furniture may then be considered.
- the telescopic arm has to be technically serviced, otherwise it may get stuck slightly, and must be of a correspondingly heavy and expensive construction, so that it is somewhat smooth-running. Visually, it disturbs due to the size. It is obvious that this known elbow support is not suitable for operating a computer mouse; because it even prevents the forearm from moving when the computer mouse is moved.
- GB 22 52 530 A describes an armrest for supporting the forearm of a typist.
- the proposal for a forearm support is exhausted by the use of three joints 18, 26 and 32, which are provided between the two arms 20 and 28.
- the first joint 32 is rotatably arranged in one plane on a bracket which can be clamped to a table
- the second support arm 20 is horizontally rotatably provided on the central joint 26 in the same axis
- the outer end of the second support arm 20 carries a support shell 12 which is shown in FIG the joint is rotatably mounted.
- US 5 472 161 describes a support for supporting the wrist when using a typewriter keyboard.
- This known support consists of a bracelet on which a kind of "trolley” is provided, which lifts and supports the wrist and can move back and forth on the table top.
- This sliding aid attached to the arm must be buckled on and off every time; doing it there problems on the skin on the user's wrist also arise.
- the desk surface must always be tidy.
- the height of the arm cannot be adjusted or can only be adjusted to a limited extent.
- the movement into the depth of the table surface is also possible only to a limited extent, since the rollers then hit the keyboard or other things.
- the rollers have to be serviced, because if they run hard because they are dirty, they annoy more than they are useful.
- This known armrest is neither suitable nor intended for operating a computer mouse. Such a known rollable wrist support would constantly hit the rubber mat and would only hinder the use of the computer mouse.
- US 4,822,103 relates to a forearm support which is attached to the left and right of a seat.
- a holding element 3 projecting vertically upwards carries at its upper end a support surface 1 which, supported on balls, can move forwards and backwards following the movement of the Unterannes.
- Springs 9 and 10 ensure that the Unterann support 1 returns to its rest position after a lack of force from the forearm.
- This known forearm support is neither intended nor suitable for supporting the forearm when operating a computer mouse. Due to its design, it only supports the operation of controls that are in the immediate vicinity of the operator's seat. In addition, it only supports forearm movement in the forward and backward directions.
- This forearm support is specially designed to briefly deflect an operating lever and the like from a rest position into an actuating position forwards and also straight ahead by supporting the return of the forearm to its rest position via springs 9 and 10. It is obvious that such a support is unsuitable for the operation of a computer mouse and only complicates its use because the user alone is concerned with preventing his forearm from being returned to a rest position.
- a forearm support for arrangement between the seats of a vehicle is known.
- the height-adjustable device has a support surface 26 which can be adapted to the seating position of the user of the vehicle seat, pushed forwards and backwards and is firmly fixed in a preset position. It is obvious that this device for supporting the forearm when using a computer mouse is neither suitable nor intended.
- an armrest with three or more flexible support elements 12, 14 and 16 is known from US Pat. No. 4,069,995, all of which are to be arranged in a regular polygon vertically between a (complex) table 18 and a base plate 20 (which can be considered as a foot).
- a cylinder 38 Central in the Base plate 20 is a cylinder 38 which is displaceable in height and which carries at its upper end an arm rest 22 (only) which can be inclined by means of a joint 34; because this means that the edition always falls into an imbalance when not in use. If the forearm is deflected from its rest position, the table 18 is also deflected, the table 18 remaining parallel to the base plate 20 during the deflection.
- this known arrangement leads the forearm back to its rest position by means of the flexible support elements.
- This armrest is attached next to the seat of a chair or the like. On which the user is sitting, and is therefore obviously not suitable or intended for use on the floor, and thus not for the operation of an operating element which is lying or standing on a table , as with a computer mouse, neither suitable nor intended.
- the deflection for operating a computer mouse and the like would also be too small and the constant return of the forearm to its rest position would be disruptive.
- the construction of this known armrest is quite complicated and requires a lot of effort in its manufacture, which makes the armrest expensive, bulky and unacceptable.
- the invention has for its object to provide a movable anvil which facilitates the operation of a computer mouse or an operating element at a computer workstation.
- the armrest should also be easy to fold away or put away.
- the support stands with a stand on the floor: On the floor, the wire circle with 3 feet and / or the cross or tripod are an alternative to the material-consuming plate.
- the vertical stand from the floor to the support can be somewhat elastic. So it facilitates the movement of the arm above.
- the rod can be made of steel, elastic from glass fiber or from a coiled spring (possibly also with different radii), or from a band spring in order to allow sufficient movement for the support structure attached above.
- One or two torsion springs (at the foot of the bar) also allow a deflection at the top.
- a telescopic rod makes it easier to put away when not in use. The advantage is then that the height of the device can be easily adjusted.
- a spring-loaded locking of slidable tubes allows fixed heights and is therefore easy to use but not continuously adjustable.
- a wing screw can be used for fixing.
- Several insertable spacer sleeves could also be used for this. If the support is not required, the support can also be made smaller or disappear by folding the upper part downwards.
- a rounded pad (possibly padded) (to the side and down) protects the skin and clothing. You can also add additional suspension (with a band or spiral spring).
- the shape of the armrest can be from round to oval elongated (approx. 10 cm long). An elongated indentation from above allows good arm contact, which supports the (rotational) movement without slipping down.
- the armrest should definitely have a swivel or swivel for attachment.
- the shell of the support towards the table should be as thin as possible so that it does not hit the table.
- the support element is formed by springs and a height-adjustable telescopic element. So the support can be adjusted and reduced and placed under the table.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to movable armrests for computer workstations, according to the preamble of claim 1. Long-term and precise (mouse) work should be supported. But other activities that can be carried out at the table level are also supported.
Many people suffer from cramping when typing and working with the mouse with medical consequences. The ceramic painters and goldsmiths have tables (some of them standing high) that have a round cut-out at the front that surrounds the people about halfway. However, this solution is not to be used in computers and offices, since these would hardly be accepted in computer workplaces due to the space consumption and the appearance.
Placeable table pads that support the wrist have been invented for the keyboard. However, this is an inflexible and, due to the friction and the type of hand gesture, still an unergonomic method.
The movable constructions already invented, which are attached to the work table, suffer, among other things, above all from the lack of transmitting kinetic energy to the table and of being constructed too stably and too complicated and, in addition, requiring maintenance for proper functioning so that they do not cause noise produce or become stiff. These usually interfere optically. The mounting of the support on the table often creates problems.
From DE 92 07 271 U1, a forearm support for operating the so-called "mouse" is known. This known forearm support has a holder 1 for clamping onto a table top and a rotating mechanism.
A long, oval, rounded support bracket for supporting the arm joints when operating a typewriter keyboard is arranged between two forked brackets. The brackets are equipped with screw clamps to attach the typewriter support to the desk. The design transmits kinetic energy to the table and may interfere with the monitor and therefore requires stable desks, which must even be shaped appropriately. The support interferes with the body of the worker and takes up space.
From DE-GM 19 83 548 a resilient support device for the elbows when typing is known. On a resilient telescopic part, a support shell for an elbow is provided on one side and a clamping device on the opposite side for vertically attaching the resilient telescopic part to the seat of a seat. The construction should start from the seat of the chair so that every time the chair is moved, a movement is transferred to the arm. Problems with coping with the height differences between the chair and table are also to be expected, and only special furniture may then be considered. The telescopic arm has to be technically serviced, otherwise it may get stuck slightly, and must be of a correspondingly heavy and expensive construction, so that it is somewhat smooth-running. Visually, it disturbs due to the size. It is obvious that this known elbow support is not suitable for operating a computer mouse; because it even prevents the forearm from moving when the computer mouse is moved.
A describes an armrest for supporting the forearm of a typist. As already stated in document (1), the proposal for a forearm support is exhausted by the use of three joints 18, 26 and 32, which are provided between the two arms 20 and 28. The first joint 32 is rotatably arranged in one plane on a bracket which can be clamped to a table, the second support arm 20 is horizontally rotatably provided on the central joint 26 in the same axis, and the outer end of the second support arm 20 carries a support shell 12 which is shown in FIG the joint is rotatably mounted. As already mentioned in reference (1), such an arrangement counteracts the movement of the forearm when using a computer mouse, so that the user must also concentrate on the "misleading" of such a device and has difficulty in doing so Compensate for misleading. It destroys kinetic energy through friction in the joints, which can only be reduced by using special (ball) bearings. The clamps on the table can loosen and possibly damage the table. The construction is difficult to remove by screwing and unscrewing it when it is not needed. Visually, it interferes with the space used in the table surface. This known device is therefore also not suitable for operating a computer mouse and, moreover, is not provided at all.
US 5 472 161 describes a support for supporting the wrist when using a typewriter keyboard. This known support consists of a bracelet on which a kind of "trolley" is provided, which lifts and supports the wrist and can move back and forth on the table top. This sliding aid attached to the arm must be buckled on and off every time; doing it there problems on the skin on the user's wrist also arise. The desk surface must always be tidy. The height of the arm cannot be adjusted or can only be adjusted to a limited extent. The movement into the depth of the table surface is also possible only to a limited extent, since the rollers then hit the keyboard or other things. The rollers have to be serviced, because if they run hard because they are dirty, they annoy more than they are useful. This known armrest is neither suitable nor intended for operating a computer mouse. Such a known rollable wrist support would constantly hit the rubber mat and would only hinder the use of the computer mouse.
US 4,822,103 relates to a forearm support which is attached to the left and right of a seat. A holding element 3 projecting vertically upwards carries at its upper end a support surface 1 which, supported on balls, can move forwards and backwards following the movement of the Unterannes. Springs 9 and 10 ensure that the Unterann support 1 returns to its rest position after a lack of force from the forearm. This known forearm support is neither intended nor suitable for supporting the forearm when operating a computer mouse. Due to its design, it only supports the operation of controls that are in the immediate vicinity of the operator's seat. In addition, it only supports forearm movement in the forward and backward directions. This forearm support is specially designed to briefly deflect an operating lever and the like from a rest position into an actuating position forwards and also straight ahead by supporting the return of the forearm to its rest position via springs 9 and 10. It is obvious that such a support is unsuitable for the operation of a computer mouse and only complicates its use because the user alone is concerned with preventing his forearm from being returned to a rest position.
From FR 1 082 209 A a forearm support for arrangement between the seats of a vehicle is known. The height-adjustable device has a support surface 26 which can be adapted to the seating position of the user of the vehicle seat, pushed forwards and backwards and is firmly fixed in a preset position. It is obvious that this device for supporting the forearm when using a computer mouse is neither suitable nor intended.
Finally, an armrest with three or more flexible support elements 12, 14 and 16 is known from US Pat. No. 4,069,995, all of which are to be arranged in a regular polygon vertically between a (complex) table 18 and a base plate 20 (which can be considered as a foot). Central in the Base plate 20 is a cylinder 38 which is displaceable in height and which carries at its upper end an arm rest 22 (only) which can be inclined by means of a joint 34; because this means that the edition always falls into an imbalance when not in use. If the forearm is deflected from its rest position, the table 18 is also deflected, the table 18 remaining parallel to the base plate 20 during the deflection. If the force exerted by the forearm for deflection is removed, this known arrangement leads the forearm back to its rest position by means of the flexible support elements. This armrest is attached next to the seat of a chair or the like. On which the user is sitting, and is therefore obviously not suitable or intended for use on the floor, and thus not for the operation of an operating element which is lying or standing on a table , as with a computer mouse, neither suitable nor intended. In addition, the deflection for operating a computer mouse and the like would also be too small and the constant return of the forearm to its rest position would be disruptive. The construction of this known armrest is quite complicated and requires a lot of effort in its manufacture, which makes the armrest expensive, bulky and unacceptable.
The invention has for its object to provide a movable anvil which facilitates the operation of a computer mouse or an operating element at a computer workstation. The armrest should also be easy to fold away or put away.
This object is achieved by the features specified in claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims. The movable armrest with its long rod, viewed as a lever, causes easy mobility in a quasi-flat surface. A slightly vertically sprung support is pleasant. This enables the arm to rotate freely and move parallel to the worktop level. Embodiments of the invention are explained with reference to the drawing.
The support stands with a stand on the floor: On the floor, the wire circle with 3 feet and / or the cross or tripod are an alternative to the material-consuming plate. The vertical stand from the floor to the support can be somewhat elastic. So it facilitates the movement of the arm above. The rod can be made of steel, elastic from glass fiber or from a coiled spring (possibly also with different radii), or from a band spring in order to allow sufficient movement for the support structure attached above. One or two torsion springs (at the foot of the bar) also allow a deflection at the top.
A telescopic rod makes it easier to put away when not in use. The advantage is then that the height of the device can be easily adjusted. A spring-loaded locking of slidable tubes allows fixed heights and is therefore easy to use but not continuously adjustable. A wing screw can be used for fixing. Several insertable spacer sleeves could also be used for this. If the support is not required, the support can also be made smaller or disappear by folding the upper part downwards.
A rounded pad (possibly padded) (to the side and down) protects the skin and clothing. You can also add additional suspension (with a band or spiral spring). The shape of the armrest can be from round to oval elongated (approx. 10 cm long). An elongated indentation from above allows good arm contact, which supports the (rotational) movement without slipping down. The armrest should definitely have a swivel or swivel for attachment. The shell of the support towards the table should be as thin as possible so that it does not hit the table.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the support element is formed by springs and a height-adjustable telescopic element. So the support can be adjusted and reduced and placed under the table.
