Claims (5)

  1. A method for the control of the throttle valve of a thermal engine for a motor vehicle, with injection controlled by an electronic computer, equipped with a motor-driven throttle valve housing (2) disposed in the air intake circuit, whose opening is driven by the electronic computer as a function of the depression of the accelerator pedal by the vehicle driver, characterised in that it consists in inhibiting the opening command (CBP) of the throttle valve housing as a result of the depression of the pedal, whatever this depression, during the starting phase of the engine defined jointly by the stoppage of the vehicle, the actuation of the engine by the starter and the depression of the pedal below a predetermined depression threshold, such that the absolute command (C ) for the opening of the throttle valve housing supplied by the electronic computer, which is the sum of the opening command (CRR) during regulation of the engine idling speed and the command (CBP) due to the depression of the pedal, is equal to the command (CRR) during regulation of idling up to the starting of the engine.
  2. A control method as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the condition of actuation of the engine by the starter is satisfied if the following two events are verified:
    the engine speed (N) is lower than a threshold which can be calibrated, beyond which the engine is in auto-rotation;
    the engine is in auto-rotation for a period lower than a threshold that can be calibrated.
  3. A control method as claimed in claim 2, characterised in that the maximum depression of the accelerator pedal cancels out the inhibition of the opening of the throttle valve housing, enabling the intake of air into the manifold before the instant (td) of starting of the engine.
  4. A control method as claimed in claim 3, characterised in that the throttle valve opening command (CBP) due to the depression (Ep) of the accelerator pedal by the driver is equal to the product of the angle (αp) of the pedal, transmitted to the electronic computer from the depression (Ep) of the pedal, multiplied by a percentage (x%) varying from 0 to 100, according to the equation: CBP = αp * x%.
  5.
