Description

The present invention relates to a method for treatment of mechanical and thermal protection pipes for sheathing bundles of cables, pipes metallic, rubber, and others.

ANTÉCÉDENTS DE L'INVENTIONBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Knitting technology has been known since long time. This technology is used for manufacturing protective pipes, both mechanical and thermal, for sheathing cable harnesses, pipes and others.

The raw material used to manufacture these protective pipes are various wires, such way that in each needle of the machine knitting a determined number of threads is put in place.

When using threads of a single filament, the protective hose obtained with this machine several disadvantages:

The hose tends to curl at the ends of the pipe forming small circumferences.

When leaving the machine, the hose has no expandability of the diameter, i.e. the diameter does not increase, adjusting only to a shape that have the internal diameter of the pipe.

The hose, coming out of the machine, has a longitudinal expandability, the diameter of it can be reduced.

If you cut the pipe longitudinally, the pipe wraps perpendicular to the cut.

A heating treatment of such pipes is known from the following documents.

In particular he describes a knitted hose made of monofilaments in elastic plastic material. The ends of these pipes tend to open which is resolved by forming a layer of a solid material adhering to the filaments of the hose reducing the tendency to open but allowing the rotation of the monofilaments between them so as to maintain the expansion characteristic of the pipe. The hose is introduced into a bath and afterwards it is heated preferably at 150 ° C.

Le document EP-A-327 085 décrit également un traitement de chauffage de tels tuyaux.EP-A-0134864 also relates to a pipe knitted fabric and its manufacturing process. In this case, the problem to be solved was the difficulty that arises when placing the hose around the cables or analogues. This document also provides pipe heating treatment formed by multiple filament yarns. The document EP-A-327 085 also describes a treatment for heating such pipes.

DESCRIPTION DE L'INVENTIONDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With the process of the invention we succeed in resolve the disadvantages mentioned, while presenting other advantages which will be described.

The process for the treatment of protection, said pipes being formed by wires of a single filament of knitted plastic material, and being heated to a temperature between 130 ° C and 600 ° C for a period of time between 10 seconds and 45 minutes, is such that during the heating stage, the protective pipes are also subjected to a longitudinal tension included between 0.1 kg. and. 5 kg for a period of time between 10 seconds and 45 minutes.

Temperatures and weather will depend on material of the tube to be treated, which will be heated to a temperature between 130 ° C and 190 ° C.

With the heat treatment applied to the pipe we obtains the elimination of the disadvantages mentioned previously. In addition, by applying tension to the at the time of the heat treatment, the adjustment of the inner diameter of the pipe to a desired diameter. Of this way, after the treatment we get a pipe which adjusts to a range of diameters from original diameter of the pipe and the diameter obtained after treatment.

According to another embodiment of the invention, son to multiple filaments are incorporated into said pipe before the heating the protection hose.

According to another embodiment of the invention, said wires are incorporated into said pipe. textured material before heating the protection.

Advantageously, the pipe is impregnated with resin before heating it. This impregnation with resin is realized only when the pipe includes yarns of textured material, which have a high absorption, or multiple filament yarns, which also have absorption, although less important than that of the threads of a textured material. This impregnation further strengthens the stability dimensional and a higher degree of hardness and flexibility high can be given. In addition, by cutting the pipe it does not does not taper at all, it can be mounted at the end of an installation.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the single filament yarns have a diameter of between 1.1 mm and 0.3 mm.

Preferably, the pipe is impregnated with silicone or acrylic resin.

According to a preferred embodiment, the son of a single filament are of a plastic material chosen between polyester, polyamide and polytetra-fluorethylene (PTFE), while the filament yarns and the yarns of a textured material are polyester or polyamide.

If desired, the pipe can be cut longitudinally after heating it. Thanks to application of the method of the invention, the pipe does not not deform, it can be applied to objects already mounted.

The process is applied to said protective pipe of the invention for a period of two minutes, by heating the pipe to a temperature of 150 ° C and subjecting it to a tension of 2 kg.

Once this period of time is completed, we obtain a pipe with an internal diameter of 20 mm, with the above-mentioned characteristics.

- Exemple 4:- Example 4:

Le diamètre interne initial du tuyau est de 35 mm.We start from a pipe formed by the wires of a single polytetra-fluorethylene (PTFE) filament with a 0.25 mm diameter, which is manufactured with a wire by needle. Once this time period completed, we get a pipe with a internal diameter of 20 mm, with the above characteristics cited.

If desired, the protective hose, after the process indicated has been applied to it, can be cut longitudinally. Thanks to the application of the the invention the pipe does not deform and can be applied to already mounted objects.

It should be noted that the equipment, which is used to apply the treatment of the invention to the pipes of protection described, has not been described, since this equipment is not part of the present invention and because the equipment that should be used for applying the process of the present invention is obvious for the skilled person.
