Abstract

The mold width is preset with the limiting values of the final strip width. For each new cast strip calculations are carried out for optimal application of the control elements of the mold and the finish rolling section. With the width of the cast strip at the entry into the finish rolling section known, additional optimization of the final strip width is undertaken using the control elements of the finish rolling section.
