Abstract

The strip (10) is a resilient multilayer composite. A flexible, resilient substrate sheet (100) is attached by thermal- or ultrasonic welding at points or lines, to nonwoven sheets (101, 102) forming cavities (104). Plastic edge strips are deformed to a wavy profile and bonded to the surface over their entire area. Independent claims are included for the method of making the strip and the plant used for the purpose. Preferred features: The substrate (10) is tri-layered, with wavy lining as described. Peaks and troughs of nonwoven material extend perpendicularly with respect to the strip, and are locally-connected at the troughs.
