    second means (7, 7a, 8, 10) for guiding and detecting a weft thread (11) which has been incorrectly inserted into the weft insertion duct (2a) of the weaving reed (2),
    characterised in that
    the first means (5, 5a; 6, 6a) form a first separate technical unit (1a) and the second means (7, 7a, 8, 10) form a second separate technical unit (1b),
    the second technical unit (1b) can be displaced on the reed strip (3) relative to the first technical unit (1a) and
    the technical unit (1b) has the thread guide (7) in the first arrangement plane and the thread guide (8) in the second arrangement plane, and the detecting means (10) comprising a single weft stop motion device which monitors both thread guides (7, 8).
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that at least the thread guide (6) of the first technical unit (1a), which thread guide (6) redirects the weft thread (11), and the thread guide (8) of the second technical unit (1b) are connected to each other by a telescopic thread guide (9).
  3. Device according to claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the inlet (7a) of the thread guide (7) is of bi-conical form.
  4. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that a variable spacing is provided between the outlet (4a) of the thread guide (4) and the inlet (7a) of the thread guide (7).
  5. Device according to claim 4, characterised in that the weft thread (11) which has been incorrectly inserted bridges the spacing without being guided.
