Abstract
Improved file folder-binder of the type which is preferably used to contain files,
brochures, sheet pads and similar, and comprised of two covers (1) provided with
prolongations (2) adhered to said covers (1) and an intermediary back (3) to which is
adhered a sheet (4) to which is fixed a body formed of a spiral. Thereby it is possible to
keep documents in a vertical position on tables, shelves, libraries and similar supports
which would otherwise remain necessarily in a horizontal position due to their lack of
consistency and rigidity or to their instability.
Description
- The present invention relates to an improved file folder-binder, of the type preferably used to hold brochures, sheet pads and similar packs, with which those documents that could not be placed in a vertical position, due to lack of stiffness and consistency, will have now the possibility of being positioned vertically on book shelves, desks, and similar supports.
- Essentially the novelty of present invention consists of having a pair of rigid covers or plates joined by a spine, said spine being provided, on its inner face, with an adhesive strip to which the edge of, for example, a plurality of sheets fastened togeter by means of a spiral or similar fastening element especially conformed so as to present a contact surface that allows for a solid binding to said spine in its whole surface.
- This new type of file folder-binder can be provided with any type of illustration, either advertising or not, applied on said covers or plates, from the very general in which said plates or covers are covered by multiple advertissements to the personal illustration including the reference to only one firm, this being used as a company gift.
- To better understand the object of the present invention, we refer to the following drawings which are part of the description and in which, as an example, we describe the following figures:
- Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the basic file;
- Fig. 2 shows the file configurated in the portion corresponding to its covers or plates;
- Fig. 3 shows a set of documents, fastened together by means of a spiral, to be filed;
- Fig. 4 shows the spiral with a special and improved configuration;
- Fig. 5 shows the formed file folder-binder with the spiral in open position;
- Fig. 6 shows the formed file folder-binder with the spiral in closed position;
- Fig. 7 shows the formed file folder-binder with the spiral provided with a pair of tabs, in an open position; and
- Fig. 8 shows the spiral with the tabs showing its special configuration.
-
- These figures have referenced the following main parts:
- The basic file comprises rigid plates or covers (1) fastened together by means of a central spine (3), said plates or covers (1) extending as countercovers (2) remaining inside of said plates or covers (1) and fastened to the same, leavind a free space on said spine (3) to be filled by a longitudinal strip (4) fastenes to said spine (3) whose longitudinal edges are hidden and housed between the edges of cover (1) and countercover (2).
- Said strip (4) will have its exposed face provided with a adhesive surface. As a complement, said plates or covers will be bound to a body formed, for example, by a pad or block of sheets (5) joined together by means of a tube (6), spiral (7) or similar, such that said pad or block of sheets remains fastened to the adhesive strip or covers by means of the tube (6) or spiral (7).
- In a first embodiment of the present invention, said plates or covers are bound to a body (5) constituted by a pad or block of sheets fastened by means of a tube (6) having a flat contact surface (8) matching precisely on spine inside face (3) of the binder file on which it will be adhered, said tube (6) adopting any shape, from the conventional circular shape to any other geometrical profile, and with any size.
- In a second embodiment of the present invention, the plates or covers are bound to a body (5) constituted by a pad or block of sheets fastened together by means of a spiral (7) provided with two tabs (9) formed before than or simultaneously with the sheets to be bound and joined with a tube in a similar way, said sheets being cut in accordance with the thickness of the basic material and glued area for a correct fastening to the adherence surface.
- With respect to the plates or covers (1),they can be a support for personal or advertising ilustrations.
- Once the nature of the present invention has been described sufficiently, it is to be understood that any modification in detail introduced in the invention will be included within this protection as long as it does not affect basically to the characteristics claimed by following claims.
Claims (3)
- Improved file folder-binder, of the type used to contain pads, documents, blocks of sheets or similar and to be covered with any type of illustration, constituted by rigid plates or covers (1) provided with extensions (2) fastened to said plates or covers (1) and joined together by means of a central longitudinal spine (3) characterized in that a strip (4) is fastened to said longitudinal spine (3) inner face, said strip (4) being prepared to receive, by means of an adhesive, a body (5) precisely matching the inner face of the binder file spine (3) so as to remain fastened together providing that said file folder-binder could be positioned vertically on any type of horizontal support.
- Improved file folder-binder in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that said body (5) is coupled on a tube (6) having a flat contact surface (8) matching integrally the inner face of said binder file spine (3) for a perfect adherence to each other, having said tube (6) the possibility to adopt any shape from the circular conventional shape to any other geometrical profile, and with any size.
- Improved file folder-binder in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that said body (5) is coupled to a spiral (7) provided with two tabs (9) formed at the same time or before the sheets to be bound and coupled similarly, and being cut in accordance with the thickness of the material used with a glued area for a correct fastening to the adherence area.
