Gerade in Leichtmetallgehäusen liegen jedoch die Kräfte, bei denen das Gehäuse, beispielsweise durch Ausreißen eines Gewindes, beschädigt wird, nur wenig über den zur Abdichtung notwendigen Kräften; insbesondere können die zu Beschädigungen führenden Kräfte ohne weiteres von Hand aufgebracht werden.
