Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to contactors and more precisely an assembly comprising a contactor and a block of auxiliary contact.
- the auxiliary contact block ensures the switching on and off an auxiliary electrical circuit.
- the contacts arranged in the contactor and in the auxiliary contact block are usually of the type double break: they consist of two solid conductive parts of the case and each supporting a silver alloy tablet, called fixed contacts, and a movable part, called a movable bridge, having movable contacts, carried by a slide made of insulating material.
- the electrical circuit connection cables are fixed to said contacts fixed.
- the movable bridge carries two silver alloy pellets intended to be rests on the fixed contacts and is, at rest, positioned against a slide wall under the action of a spring.
- the block slide contact auxiliary is rigidly linked to the contactor slide in order to move at the same time as the contactor slide.
- the sliders move perpendicular to the lines formed by the fixed contacts of the contactor and the auxiliary contact block.
- the movable bridge When closing a contact, main contactor contactor or auxiliary contact, the movable bridge is brought into contact with the contacts fixed in order to close the circuit connected to the fixed contacts and thus establish a flow of current in this circuit.
- the movable bridge remains in support on the fixed contacts during the end of the slide movement while the spring is compressed and exerts pressure on the movable bridge direction of fixed contacts.
- auxiliary contact blocks are mounted either on the front panel or on a side face of the contactor and may include one or more auxiliary contacts arranged side by side with movable bridges carried by the same slide.
- the auxiliary contacts open and close at the same time as the main contactor (s) of the contactor, with, in depending on the dimensional tolerances of the devices, a slight delay or a slight advance.
- auxiliary contact supplies one or more several resistors (or one or more inductors) arranged in parallel with the main contact
- a circuit is used in which the auxiliary contact closes before the main contact. This arrangement provides fugitive insertion of resistors or chokes between the time of closing of the auxiliary contact and its short-circuiting by the main contact, which considerably reduces the current peak when the main contacts and avoid soldering.
- auxiliary blocks are produced in which the closing of the auxiliary contact is advanced compared to that of the main contact by a geometric offset of the rest stop of the movable bridge in the slide.
- a second disadvantage of these devices is due to the fact that the contacts principals who never cut the power, do not benefit from self-cleaning provided by the electric arc and can see their resistance from contact increase under the influence of external pollution.
- We arrive in in some cases the suspension of the passage of electric current through main contacts which results in the resistance (or the self) of the auxiliary circuit is no longer fleetingly crossed but remains under tension constantly which quickly causes its destruction because it is not designed for this purpose.
- This solution requires the installation of a reminder additional arranged in the auxiliary block and opposing the effort of the contactor for almost the whole of its travel.
- the disadvantage of this provision is that it can cause a reduction in the supply voltage range of the coil, especially when this block is to be used on a standard contactor located in a high temperature atmosphere.
- these devices require either a manufacturing contactor special in order to carry part of the disengageable means adapting to the auxiliary block slide, i.e. an auxiliary block whose slide is in two parts secured by the disengageable coupling. They require therefore the implementation of complicated constructions or adaptations this which harms their development.
- the present invention aims to propose an auxiliary contact block for simple manufacturing, can be mounted on a standard contactor and ensuring that the auxiliary contact opens and closes before those of the main contact.
- the invention proposes an auxiliary contactor contact block comprising at least one advanced closing auxiliary contact, the movable bridge moves in a recess forming a cage of a slide insulator under the action of a spring, characterized in that the movable bridge is carried by a part mounted sliding in the cage under the action of the spring and in that the walls of the cage carry means capable of securing said part of the cage, thereby blocking the action of the spring, so as to ensure an advanced opening of the auxiliary contact.
- the device shown in the drawing comprises a contactor 1 and a block auxiliary 8.
- the magnetic circuit 3 of the contactor 1 is mounted on a slide 2 made of insulating material.
- This slide 2 presents at least one recess of rectangular shape or cage 50 in which a movable bridge 5 is slidably mounted under the action of a spring 6.
- the ends of each movable bridge 5 are arranged so as to come resting against fixed contacts 4 during movement of the slide 2 perpendicular to the contact line, i.e. vertically in the representation of Figure 1.
- a single recess-cage-bridge assembly mobile-fixed contacts is shown in the accompanying drawings.
- the slider 2 carries, at its end projecting outside the contactor 1, a means 7 allowing its attachment to a slide of the block auxiliary in order to train it.
- the auxiliary contact block 8 mounted on the front face of the contactor 1 comprises a slide 10 whose projecting end is shaped so as to be hooked by means of the slide 2 of the contactor during mounting the auxiliary unit on the contactor.
- the slide 10 of the auxiliary block has a cage 110 in which the auxiliary bridge 11 intended to cooperate with moves fixed contacts 9.
- the auxiliary bridge 11 is pushed into abutment against the underside 19 of the cage 110 by the spring 15.
- the distance separating the lower face 19 from the cage of the hooking means 7 is such that the auxiliary contact is closed before the main contactor contact.
- the auxiliary bridge 11 is integral with a part 12 of general U-shape mounted in the cage of the auxiliary slide 10, said piece 12 is wider than the slide. In the example shown, it is of width substantially equal to that of the auxiliary bridge 11.
- this part 12 has a bottom 120 adapted to be applied against the face 19 of the cage disposed near the auxiliary fixed contacts, the face lower in the example shown, and to be secured to the auxiliary bridge 11 and two lateral faces 121, elastically deformable, adapted to be arranged along the vertical walls of the cage and ending in portions 16 folded towards the inside of the cage.
- the lateral faces 121 of the part 12 have recesses 122 of which the upper end is closed by the folded portion 16.
- the internal faces of the cage against which the faces are arranged 121 of the part 12 carry lugs 13 protruding towards the space inside said cage.
- Said lugs 13 have a flat upper face, perpendicular to the side faces of the cage, and an inclined underside parallel to the folded portions 16 of the part 12.
- the housing of the auxiliary block 8 is made in two parts 17 and 18, by example obtained by plastic molding.
- Each part 17, 18 carries two teeth 14 arranged on the path of the ends of the part 12 protruding from either side of the slide.
- D1 the distance separating the face in the initial open position upper of each lug 13 of the open underside of the portion folded down 16
- D2 the offset between the position for which the movable bridge auxiliary contact the auxiliary contact and the position for which the main movable bridge comes into contact with the main contact.
- D1 is chosen to be greater than D2 so that the closing of the auxiliary and main contacts takes place so known per se.
- FIG. 3a which reproduces FIG. 2, the device is represented in its initial position open, the auxiliary bridge 11 and the bridge 5 are respectively away from contacts 9 and 4.
- the auxiliary bridge 11 touches the fixed contacts 9 while the main bridge 5 is still at a distance D2 contacts 4.
- the cages auxiliary 110 and main 50 move relative to bridges 11 and 5.
- the folded portions 16 of the part 12 are opposite the pins 13, the side walls 121 of the part 12 being flexed elastically towards the inside of the cage, while in the figure 3e, said folded portions 16 have exceeded said lugs 13, the walls 121 of part 12 came back against the walls of the cage 110 due to their elasticity while the pins 13 extend through the recesses 122.
- the bridges 11 and 5 are held against the fixed contacts 9 and 4 by the force applied to them by the springs 15 and 6 tablets respectively each respectively between a bridge and the bottom of the cage in which it has climbed.
- CA was noted the auxiliary compression, that is to say the distance separating the auxiliary bridge 11 from the bottom 19 of the auxiliary cage at the end of movement and CP the main compression.
- the folded portions 16 of the part 12 are arranged at a distance CA-D1 from the pins 13 while being beyond of these with respect to the auxiliary bridge 11.
- Figures 4a to 4e show the opening of the device according to the invention.
- Figure 4a is identical to Figure 3e showing the closed device.
- the device After moving CA-D1, the device is in the position shown in Figure 4b, the folded portions 16 are in contact with the flat upper face of the lugs 13.
- Figure 4d shows the next step of the opening for which the main contact 5-4 is open and the folded portions 16 are in contact teeth 14.
- the oblique lower wall of the teeth 14 pushes back the side walls 121 of the part 12 which tilt elastically towards the inside of the cage.
- the pins 13 are at the same level as the teeth 14 but have a dimension towards the interior of the cage smaller than that of said teeth 14.
- the inclination of the side walls 121 during their displacement along the teeth 14 is such that the pins 13 do not extend more into the recesses 122.
- the action of the spring 15 can then push the part 12 back to its initial position pressing against the face end 19 of the cage 110.
- the device according to the invention is such that the auxiliary contact 11-9 is closed before main contact 5-4 so as to allow energization an auxiliary circuit, and is open before the opening of the main contact so as to allow the cut-off to be made by said main contact which allows its cleaning.
- Figures 5 to 8 show a second embodiment in which the auxiliary contact opens when the main contact is closed in order to to open the auxiliary circuit and not to risk that the elements which it contains remain energized in the event that an insulating element could position on main contact 4 and prevent it from closing.
- the auxiliary contact block 8 comprises a slide 10 driven as previously by the slide 2 of the main contactor by means of solidarity 7.
- the slider 10 has a rectangular recess which does not by itself form the cage, said cage being formed by an element 20 slidably mounted in this recess and pushed back towards the end face 27 of the slide by a spring 21.
- the cage 20 is divided into two parts, a first which we call upper opposite Figure 6 and which is the part arranged opposite of the contactor with respect to the auxiliary fixed contacts 9, and a second which we call here lower arranged between the auxiliary fixed contacts 9 and the contactor.
- Said upper and lower parts of the cage 20 are delimited by a separation 200.
- the upper part of the cage 20 has the same arrangement as the cage 110 of the auxiliary slide used in the first form of production.
- the part 12 with its portions folded down 16, the pins 13 carried by the cage 20 and the teeth 14 carried by The box.
- the auxiliary bridge 11 is fixed to the part 12 and pushed back towards an end wall 19 of the upper part of the cage 20 by a spring 15.
- a part 25 similar to part 12 is mounted in the lower part of the cage 20 being arranged upside down, that is to say with the U shape open towards the contactor.
- This piece 25 is hung near its separation bottom 200, for example by means of hooks 23 integral of said separation.
- the side walls of the part 25 have at their end of the folded portions 26 and are crossed by recesses 252 intended to cooperate with lugs 24 arranged on the slide 10.
- Teeth 22 are formed on the wall of the housing containing the block auxiliary.
- the housing of the auxiliary unit also has a stop 28 against which the cage 20 is supported by its upper end.
- Figures 7a to 7g show different stages of closing the device, the slides 2 and 10 connected by the means 7 moving in the direction of arrow F.
- the slide In the initial position shown in FIG. 7a, the slide is in its high position for which its end wall 27 is near the bottom of the auxiliary block housing, while the cage 20, pushed by the spring 21 and resting against the stop 28 of the housing.
- the slide 10 drives the cage 20 in its movement towards contactor 1 by the fact that the part 25 is hooked on the one hand to the pins 24 of said slide and on the other hand to separation hooks 200.
- the auxiliary contact closes before the main contact so that allow an auxiliary circuit to be energized, then opens when the main contact is closed.
- the cage 20 remains against the stop 28 during the end of the movement of the slides. This has the effect of a relative displacement of the part 25 by compared to slide 10 which brings it into the position for which the pins 24 are positioned in the recesses 252 of the side walls 251 ( Figures 8f and 8g).
- the device according to the invention can be implemented without requiring particular adaptation of the contactor.
