Selbstverständlich kann der Messerschlitten z.B. mittels einer zusätzlichen Zahnstange oder eines Transportzahnriemens über einen mitbewegten oder stationären Motor angetrieben werden (keine nähere Umschreibung hierzu, da u.E. jedem Fachmann derartige Lösungen bekannt sind). Zusammengefasst zeichnet sich ein erfindungsgemäss aufgebauter Brieföffner durch wenig Bauteile, eine kostengünstige kompakte Konstruktion und dank fast reibungsfreier Abrollbewegung geringer Antriebs-bzw, Vorschubkraft aus. Fertigungstoleranzen insbesondere beim Abstand zwischen den
beiden Schienen 4 und 40 auskompensiert. Gleichzeitig wird
die untere Schiene sicher in die Nut an der Schulter des
Messers hineingedrückt. Da die Schneide des Messers um 1-10
Hunderstelmillimeter von der Auflagefläche 1 zurücksteht,
schneidet das über den Briefumschlag gezogene Messer 3 nur
die obenliegende Papierschicht des Couverts auf. Da die
Schiene 4 dabei auf dem Nutgrund aufliegt, kann das Messer
die Briefauflagefläche nie berühren. Zur Schonung der
