Claims (12)

  1. A pair (1) of socks or stockings (2,3) which can be joined in a detachable fashion, one sock (2,3) or one stocking (2,3) having firmly attached thereto a first fastening element (4) to detachably receive a second, complementary fastening element (5) which is firmly attached to the other sock (2,3) or the other stocking (2,3), characterized in that the socks or stockings (2,3), at least in that area where the fastening element (4,5) is attached, have a mesh density of at least 2000 MD.
  2. The pair of socks or stockings according to claim 1, characterized in that a mesh density of at least 2000 MD is present within a radius of up to 1 cm in that area where the fastening element (4,5) is attached.
  3. The pair of socks or stockings according to claim 1, characterized in that the socks or stockings (2,3) have a mesh density of at least 2000 MD.
  4. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 3, characterized in that the mesh density is at least 4000 MD.
  5. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 4, characterized in that the fastening elements (4,5) are transparent.
  6. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 5, characterized in that the first and second fastening elements (4,5) are heat-resistant, and each represents a complementary part of a snap, a velcro fastener, an insertion fastener, or a hook and eye.
  7. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 6, characterized in that the first and second fastening elements (4,5) are woven into the socks or stockings (2,3), or pasted on or sewed on the socks or stockings (2,3).
  8. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 6, characterized in that both the first and second fastening elements (4,5) are inserted in a counterpart (7) which is located at the respectively other side of the sock or stocking (2,3) than the fastening element (4,5) and extends through the sock or stocking (2,3).
  9. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 8, characterized in that each of the first and second fastening elements (4,5) are attached to the leg portion (6) of the socks or stockings (2,3).
  10. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 9, characterized in that each of the first and second fastening elements (4,5) are attached at the leg inward or outward side of the sock or stocking (2,3).
  11. The pair of socks or stockings according to one or more of claims 1 through 10, characterized in that both fastening elements (4,5) in non-joined condition are covered by means of complementary fastening elements (8,9) having identical labels.
  12. A method of attaching an arrangement of detachably joinable fastening elements to produce a pair of socks or stockings according to any of claims 1 through 11, characterized in that the fastening elements (4,5) are woven into the socks or stockings (2,3) in an area having a mesh density of at least 2000 MD, pasted or sewed onto the socks or stockings, or inserted in a counterpart (7) which is located at the respectively other side of the sock or stocking (2,3) as a fastening element (4,5) and extends through the sock or stocking.
