Definitions
- the present invention relates to an input system automatic propellant charge modules stored in a shop.
- ammunition fired by a artillery cannon consists of a projectile and a propellant charge which have been successively introduced into the barrel chamber
- the charge is formed by an envelope fuel of substantially constant length.
- This envelope may contain sachets of propellant powder in variable number depending on the quantity of powder required for projectile fire.
- Patent EP-0616185 describes a storage system and propellant charge supply comprising an elevator arranged opposite a store fitted with pushers for introduce the modules in the boxes of this lift. The modules descend by gravity into the elevator and are then taken care of by a treadmill. No seizure modules are not planned.
- Patent EP-0418462 describes a loading system for propellant charge modules comprising pushers making pass one or more modules from a chute to a stretcher loading. This system is isolated from the store and does not provide not entering modules.
- the means for entering a module are constituted by a suction cup associated with a vacuum generator with venturi effect.
- the downside of such vacuum automatic entry device is that it requires the installation of a very security system reliable to avoid the risk of a leak which can cause the fall of a module.
- the object of the invention is to alleviate in particular the disadvantages of the gripping means comprising a gripper articulated jaws, while providing other advantages.
- the invention proposes a system for entering propellant charge modules stored in a store, this system comprising at least one input means carried by a movable support arm actuated by means to be able to enter the store and come and enter at least one module, system which is characterized in that the gripping means comprises two forks arranged opposite one another and which delimit between them a reception housing of at least one module, and at least one retractable retaining means intended to protrude inside the housing to maintain the module in this housing after the passage of the two forks and the module to be entered.
- the store includes at least one compartment to store at least one row of modules, the compartment being delimited by two parallel partitions and spaced slightly apart from each other larger than the diameter of a module, the partitions comprising spacers mounted opposite the each other to isolate each module in the row on the one hand, and create a space between each module and the two partitions to allow the free passage of two forks on the other hand.
- the means of retaining a module in the housing of the gripping means consists of at least one retractable cleat which is hinged mounted on one of the two forks permanently seized and requested by a spring to protrude inside the housing, the module automatically retracting the cleat when entering the module in the housing of the gripping means.
- the system according to the invention comprises also a detection device to detect the presence of a module received in the housing delimited between the two forks of the gripping means to stop the downward movement of the support arm inside the shop.
- the device for module detection consists of a pivoting stop and an electric switch which is controlled according to the position of the stopper and connected to the means actuating the support arm of the gripping means, the tilting of the finger being ensured by the module.
- the system according to the invention comprises also a store bottom detection device to stop the downward movement of the support arm mobile inside the store when the compartment of the magazine in which the support arm moves does not contains more modules.
- the device for store bottom detection consists of a simple electric switch fixed on one of the forks of a gripping means and the pusher protrudes at the free end surface of the fork to control directly the switch.
- the system includes several means of seizure regularly distributed along of the support arm to be able to grip simultaneously several modules.
- a detection of a module is associated with each means of entered but with a single electrical switch which is controlled by any of the pivoting stops, when only one device for detecting the store background.
- the gripping means ensure reliable maintenance of the modules without the risk of inadvertent release of a module.
- the gripping means hold the modules without exerting a any clamping force, since the modules are simply based on a means of restraint.
- the means of entry have barely a minimum footprint larger than the diameter of a module, which allows optimize the number of modules carried.
- the magazine 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 allows storage of propellant charge modules 3. These modules 3 have substantially the same diameter, the same length and, in the example illustrated, a shape cylindrical.
- the store 1 forms a generally rectangular parallelepiped block, the internal volume of which is divided into several compartments 5 by partitions 7 which are parallel and regularly spaced apart.
- Each compartment 5 extends substantially over the entire height of the magazine 1 and allows the storage of n superimposed rows of modules 3 which are axially aligned in each row.
- the partitions 7 (FIG. 2) support spacers 9 mounted facing each other inside each compartment 5 to isolate each module 3 inside a row and to provide a space e between each module 3 and the two partitions 7 of each compartment 5.
- Each spacer 9 is constituted by a vertical rail with a straight section in the shape of a T and which extends substantially over the entire height of the magazine 1.
- the rail has a base 9a, the thickness of which defines the width of each space e and a vertical rib 9b which projects into the compartment 5 to separate two adjacent modules 3 in the same row.
- a system 10 allows automatic entry at least one module 3 in one of the compartments 5 of the store 1.
- the system 10 therefore comprises at least one means 12 of a module 3, which is carried by an arm of mobile support 13 to be able to penetrate inside each compartment 5 and come and enter a module 3.
- each gripping means 12 comprises two guide forks 12a and 12b each having two arms 16 joined at one end by a base 18.
- the two arms 16 of a fork are separated one of the other by a distance less than the length of a module 3, and are dimensioned so as to be able to freely engage in the space e delimited by the spacers 9.
- the two forks 12a and 12b are mounted on either side of the support arm 13 and fixed thereto by their bases 18, so that the two forks 12a and 12b are opposite one another, extend from one same side of the support arm 13 and are separated from each other by a distance slightly greater than the diameter of a module 3.
- the two arms 16 of the fork 12a extend over a length greater than the diameter of a module 3, while those of the fork 12b extend only over a length barely greater than the radii d u module 3.
- the support arm 13 is for example constituted by a rigid plate 20 having two longitudinal edges 22 on which are fixed the bases 18 of the forks 12a and 12b.
- Housing L (FIG. 3) is thus overall delimited between the two forks 12a and 12b to receive a module 3, and the input means 12 also includes a retractable retaining means 25 which can project inside the housing L to hold the module 3.
- the retaining means 25 is constituted by a cleat retractable 27 supported by the fork 12a of the means of entry 12.
- the cleat 27 has for example a U shape, the two free ends of which are connected by a rod 27a supported in rotation at the end of the two arms 16 of the fork 12a.
- a torsion spring (not shown) forces the cleat 27 to protrude inside the housing L.
- the system 10 is designed to be able to enter a whole row of modules 3 from a compartment 5.
- the support arm 13 carries as many input means 12 that of modules 3 stored in a row of a compartment 5.
- the gripping means 12 are so regularly arranged along this arm of support 13.
- Spacers 28 are fixed on the support arm 13 between the means of grip 12 to axially immobilize the modules 3 and isolate one from the other two adjacent modules 3.
- Store 1 which rests on a surface support S is open at its upper end, so that on one of its sides which corresponds for example to a side face of the store which extends perpendicular to the rows of modules 3.
- the displacements of the support arm 13 are provided by drive means M located at outside of store 1 and which include a device forming lift 30 movable in one direction vertical to move the support arm 13 to inside a compartment 5, one end of the arm 13 being attached to the elevator 30.
- the elevator 30 is housed in a cage 32 movable in translation along the side open from tray 1 to select a compartment 5.
- the elevator 30 is controlled by a first rack and pinion drive device, by example, powered by a first electric motor M1.
- the cage 32 is controlled by a second device rack and pinion drive, for example, actuated by a second M2 electric motor to move the along two upper and lower guide rails 34.
- a detection device 40 is associated with each input means 12 for detecting the presence of a module 3 in the housing L delimited between the two forks 12a and 12b to stop the downward movement of the elevator 30 inside a compartment 5 from that a module 3 is received in any of housing L.
- each detection device 40 includes a pivoting stop 42 which projects inside the housing L.
- Each stop 42 passes through freely the plate 20 of the support arm 13, and all the stops 42 are connected by a connecting element 44 to a rod 45 rotatably supported by two bearings 46 carried by the plate 20.
- the rod 45 extends parallel to the support arm 13 and supports a lug 48, integral of one of the connecting elements 44, which is used for control the push-button 50a with a first switch electric 50 which is connected to the control device of the elevator motor M1 30.
- the switch 50 which is thus common to all the gripping means 12 is mounted between the two arms 16 of the fork 12a of one of the gripping means 12.
- the detection device 60 can be simply constituted by the pusher 62a used to control a second electrical switch 62 which is mounted on the fork 12a of the gripping means 12 and also connected to the motor control device M1 of the elevator 30.
- the switch 62 is for example housed at the interior of a hollow arm 16 of one of the forks 12a gripping means 12, so that the pusher 62a protrudes from the free end face of the hollow arm 16.
- the elevator 30 being supposed to be located at the part upper of the cage 32, that is to say that the arm of support 13 of the gripping means 12 is located at outside the store 1.
- the M2 motor is activated to move the elevator shaft 32 along the rails guide 34, so as to position the arm of support 13 above the magazine 1 and opposite one compartments 5.
- the M2 engine is stopped to immobilize the cage 32 in position, and the motor M1 is actuated in turn to lower the elevator and, therefore, the support arm 13 inside the compartment 5 selected.
- the forks 12a and 12b of the gripping means 12 penetrate inside the compartment 5 and pass freely in the spaces e delimited by the spacers 9. As soon as a cleat 27 of a gripping means comes into contact with a module 3 stored in compartment 5, the module 3 automatically retracts the cleat 27 by penetrating inside the housing L delimited by the two forks 12a and 12b of the gripping means 12.
- module 3 When module 3 comes into contact with the pivoting stop 42 of the detection device 40, the module 3 switches the stop 42, which results in a rotation of the rod 45 which, via the tab 48, acts on the pusher 50a of the electric switch 50.
- the actuation of switch 50 causes the movement of descent of the elevator 30 to immobilize the arm of support 13.
- Module 3 is therefore fully engaged in the housing L delimited between the two forks 12a and 12b input means 12, and module 3 is retained in this housing L resting on the cleat 27 which has resumed its projecting position inside the housing L.
- Certain devices in the input system 10 can be made according to exemplary embodiments other than those described above.
- each retaining means 25 of a module 3 could be controlled by an electric or pneumatic actuator, which would possibly allow all or part of the n modules of the same row of a compartment to be grasped.
- the invention is not limited to modules having a cylindrical shape.
