Description

The invention relates to a device for connecting external lines to an automation device according to the preamble of the claim.

Such, from DE-GM 94 01 114 known device comprises a plurality of terminal units, each of which terminal unit consists of a support body which carries on two opposite end faces in each case a row with connection elements. Each connecting element of the one, first row is hardwired within the supporting body with an associated connecting element of the second row. The terminal units are joined together side by side to form a connection module, wherein the first rows are juxtaposed with the connection elements in parallel and while the connection elements are arranged in a predetermined grid; The second rows are parallel next to each other, with their connecting elements are also arranged in a grid.

From this known device differs another, from the company catalog "Phoenix Contact, Connection Technology '95 / 96", pages 243 and 244 known device essentially in that the different rows with the connection elements not on opposite, but on a common narrow side of individual support body are arranged. In a design referred to as a potential connector, the connection elements are also connected electrically conductively within the rows.

For connecting external lines, such as the connection lines of control panels and surveillance images in Mosaic technology, to an automation device, usually the input and output terminals of the programmable controller are connected to the connecting elements in the example, first rows of the individual terminal units and the external lines to the connecting elements in the second rows and connected to each other. In this case, first the external lines are connected via plugs, by soldering or in any other way to connecting elements in the second rows, wherein, to give an example, the two lines of an indicator lamp or a button are each connected to two directly adjacent connection elements. In the case of the indicator lamp, an output terminal of the programmable controller and a ground terminal and, in the case of the probe, an input terminal of the programmable controller and a power supply terminal are then connected to the associated terminal elements in the first row. The connection of the connecting elements with the input and output terminals of the automation device thus takes place individually as a function of the connection pattern of the external lines and is therefore very installation-intensive and with respect to a later troubleshooting very confusing. In any case, a documentation of the assignment of the connection elements is required.

The invention has for its object to significantly reduce the planning, assembly and documentation effort in the connection of external lines with an automation device.

According to the invention the object is achieved by the device specified in the claim.

Characterized in that next to each terminal unit each have a further terminal unit is arranged, the connecting elements are additionally electrically conductively connected to each other within the rows, it is possible from the external lines an indicator light, a button or other external unit in each case to connect a line to a terminal element of a terminal unit and the respective other line to an immediately adjacent terminal element of the adjacent further terminal unit. The input and output terminals of the automation device can then be connected to the corresponding terminal elements of the terminal unit lying in the respective other rows, while the corresponding terminal elements of the further terminal unit are connected to a ground terminal or a power supply terminal of the programmable controller. In this way it is achieved that all in-line terminal elements of a terminal unit can be connected only to input and output terminals of the programmable controller, without one or some of these connection elements must be connected to a power or ground terminal, because this is the connection elements of serve each adjacent another terminal unit. The connection of the terminal elements with the input and output terminals of the programmable controller must therefore not be made individually in response to the connection pattern of the external lines, but can be done via plug, with a connector with a suitable number of connector poles is sufficient for each terminal unit.

Figur 3 zeigt schematisch ein Ausführungsbeispiel der erfindungsgemäßen Einrichtung mit einem Automatisierungsgerät 16 mit 32 Ausgangsanschlüssen 17, die in vier Gruppen 19 angeordnet sind, von denen jede Gruppe 19 jeweils acht Ausgangsanschlüsse 17 mit den Bezeichnungen An0 bis An7 (n=0,1,2,3) sowie jeweils einen Spannungsversorgungsanschluß L+ und einen Masseanschluß M- aufweist.FIG. 3 schematically shows an exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention with an automation device 16 having 32 output terminals 17 arranged in four groups 19, each group 19 each having eight output terminals 17 labeled An0 to An7 (n = 0,1,2, 3) and each having a power supply terminal L + and a ground terminal M-.

A monitoring image in mosaic technique 20 to be triggered by the automation device 16, as is known, for example, from control rooms, has a plurality of external units 21 with external lines 22. The units 21 shown here are display units with one or two light-emitting diodes 23.

The connection between the automation device 16 and the lines 22 of the external units 21 via a plurality of terminal units 1 (Figure 1) and other terminal units 14 (Figure 2), which are shown here with a view of their connecting elements 4 bearing sides 7 and arranged alternately adjacent to each other are. In this case, the connecting elements 4 in the first rows 3 and the connecting elements 13 of the rails 12 in a first grid and the connecting elements 4 in the second rows 5 are in a same second grid.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, each group 19 is connected from output terminals An0 to An7 of the automation device 16 to the connection elements 4 in the first row 3 of a respective connection unit 1. The connection therefore takes place via a line 24, which has at one end an indicated by hatching connector 25 for the output terminals An0 to An7 and at the other end in each case a connector 26 for each terminal unit 1. The plugs 26 are each formed ten-pole, with eight plug poles the connection between the output terminals An0 to An7 and the connecting elements 4 and two poles connect between the power supply terminal L + and the ground terminal M- and the rails 12 with the connecting elements 13 produce. The interconnected terminal elements 4 of the other terminal units 14 are, for example via a bridge 27, connected to the ground terminal M-.

The external units 21 with their LEDs 23 are connected via connectors 28 at the ends of the lines 22 to lying in the second rows 5 connecting elements 4 of the terminal unit 1 and the other terminal units 14.
