  • the present invention relates to a female wall socket of the type "Modular Jack", typically a wall outlet for receiving telephone pairs or computer contained in a supply cable, and in which the user will plug in, for its telephony or IT needs for example, a additional "Modular Jack” type male plug (see document EP-A-0 735 613).

  • this socket 1 can be powered by a cable which is routed either in protruding troughs 2, 3 where it can arrive from the right, or from the left, either from the rear in built-in chutes 4, 5, either from the top in a column 6, or from the bottom in a post 6A.
  • the depth of the feed chute must also be taken into account. For a classic chute with a depth of 40 mm, the radius of curvature of the cable cannot ultimately be less than 30 mm.

  • Each of these IDCs 7 is intended to receive one of the strands of a four-pair cable 8 to be connected to this socket. In the case shown here, this cable 8 arrives from the bottom, in a post not shown.

  • the reference 10 designates a connection pusher which is separable from the socket and intended to receive all of the line strands 11 before this push button is plugged into the rear of the socket, then chasing each strand 11 into the respective insulation displacement slot of the associated IDC contact 7.

  • Each line strand 11 is introduced into a receiving chute and individual 13, which crosses the pusher 10 orthogonally to the plane Y, then is folded at right angles into a longitudinal receiving chute 12 which is parallel to the Y plane, this configuration being completely symmetrical with respect to in plane Y, the strands 11 could be introduced in the same way from the top, as shown in dotted lines in Figure 3.
  • the pusher 10 has a front mouth 14, at the bottom of which are visible the eight strands 11. This front mouth 14 is intended to be plugged into a complementary male part 15 (FIG. 2), located at the rear of the socket, and which carries the eight IDC 7 contacts.
  • Cross channels 16 are provided, at the bottom of the mouth 14 and behind the channels 13, to receive the free ends of the IDC contacts, while the strands 11 are forcibly driven into their insulation displacement slots respective recipients.
  • the socket has two L-shaped jaws, 17 and 18, which are intended, by closing one on the other, to grasp the back of the pusher 10 which has adapted receiving shapes, 19 and 20 respectively, intended to cooperate with these jaws so, by a powerful leverage that will be shown below, force the pusher 10 onto its receiving part 15, and therefore carry out the connection of the strands 11 to their respective IDC contacts 7.
  • Figures 5 and 6 show the two jaws 17, 18 during closing. They grow, by their end branches 17A and 18A, on the respective adapted shapes 19 and 20 of the rear of the pusher 10. It suffices for this to press laterally on these branches between the thumb and forefinger of a hand.
