Abstract

The pliers have two shanks (F,G) terminating in hand grips (12,13). The upper ends of the two shanks terminate in profiled grip jaws (14,15). The two halves are linked by a pivot on a sliding mounting to alter the spacing of the jaws. The sliding setting is secured by a ratchet (52) along the rear edge of one half and gripped by a ratchet grip (40) on the other section. The pivot section of the pliers has a rotating plate (18) which supports the ratchet grip at one edge. The plate also has two parallel lips to form the sliding guide for the other half of the pliers.
