- Accepted banknotes only reach the storage units via the first transport path when they have been checked for authenticity and if they have been secured is that the transaction can be completed successfully. If, on the other hand, there is any circumstance that does not guarantee successful completion of the transaction, the accepted banknotes can be quickly returned to the customer without the units housed in the secure housing being touched at all. Likewise, structural changes in the head part on the one hand or on the storage units in the secure housing on the other hand in no way affect the other unit. By using winding memories, accepted banknotes can be reissued without any great technical effort, so that the banknote supply in the storage cassettes is protected. This extends the time between two reloading processes and thus the availability of the ATM. The common transport path for all storage units enables the connection of further storage units in a simple manner and shortens the transaction times.

Banknotes removed from the safe are sent directly to the issuing office.
- the winding storage devices 34 and 36 within the safe are connected via a fourth transport track 66 to a further output compartment 68 located on the rear side of the housing 10, which is only accessible to bank employees.
