Ein gattungsmäßiges Verfahren ist aus der DE 38 36 549 C1 bekannt. Bei diesem Verfahren wird als Entschwefelungsschlacke die im Sauerstoffaufblasverfahren anfallende Konverterschlacke zugesetzt. Die Konverterschlacke wird wahlweise in flüssiger Form direkt aus dem Konverter in die zur Aufnahme des Roheisens bestimmte Behandlungspfanne eingefüllt und anschließend das Roheisen auf die Schlacke gegossen. Alternativ wird vorgeschlagen, die nach dem Abguss aus dem Konverter erkaltete Konverterschlacke kleinstückig mit einer maximalen Stückgröße von 50 mm aufzubereiten und in dieser Form dem Roheisen zuzugeben. Nachteilig bei dem bekannten Verfahren ist die geringe Sulfidkapazität der eingesetzten Konverterschlacke, so daß der Anteil zusätzlicher teurer Entschwefelungsreagenzien weiterhin sehr hoch ist.A generic method is known from DE 38 36 549 C1. Dadurch ist die Möglichkeit der Entmischung noch geringer und die Dosierbarkeit damit noch präziser möglich. Dabei liegt die Korngröße für alle verwendeten Reagenzien unter 1 mm, wobei der Durchschnitt für Kalziumcarbid 0,03 mm, für Magnesium 0,5 mm und für die Schlacke 0,7 mm beträgt. Der Vorteil der Verwendung dieser Schlacke ist darin zu sehen, daß sie eine Basizität von mindestens 4 und geringe Eisengehalte im Bereich von 4 - 6 Gewichtsprozent und Phosphorgehalte ≤ 0,4 Gewichtsprozent aufweist. Da die Gießpfannenschlacke im Regelfall noch eine durchschnittliche relative Feuchtigkeit von 8 % aufweist, wird diese z. B. einer Mahltrocknung unterzogen, um ein Verbacken in der Tauchlanze zu vermeiden.
