Claims (12)

  1. Device for electrically connecting a main electrical cable (1) to a busbar (33) and/or to one or more secondary cables (2), these cables having a conducting core surrounded by an insulating sheath, the device comprising at least two toothed jaws (6, 6a) provided with teeth (8) placed opposite one another, in order to clamp the main cable and pass through the insulating sheath in order to come into contact with the conducting core, and means for electrical connection to the busbar (33) and/or the secondary cables (2),
    characterized in that it comprises a metal element (10) made as a single piece by cutting and bending a sheet of conducting metal, this element (10) including the toothed jaws (6, 6a) and being placed in a block (11) of insulating material, from which the teeth (8) of the jaws (6, 6a) project, this block (11) being covered by at least one other block (12) of insulating material, clamping means (14) being provided for clamping the said other block onto the main cable (1) which extend over the jaws (6, 6a), and in that the two jaws (6, 6a) are joined together by a strip (16) formed from the cut sheet.
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the strip (16) is of arcuate shape.
  3. Device according to Claim 2, characterized in that each jaw (6, 6a) engaging with the main cable (1) comprises two parallel series of teeth (8).
  4. Device according to Claim 3, characterized in that the metal element (10) comprises four jaws (6, 6a) engaging with the main cable (1), two (6) of them lying in a first plane and the other two (6a) in a plane parallel to the first.
  5. Device according to Claim 4, characterized in that the two jaws (6) lying in the first plane comprise a first series of teeth lying in the plane of a longitudinal strip (17) and a second series of teeth lying in the plane of a portion of a strip (18) parallel to the longitudinal strip (17) and joined to the latter by at least one transverse strip (19).
  6. Device according to Claim 4, characterized in that the two jaws (6a) lying in the second plane comprise two series of teeth, each lying in the plane of a portion of a strip (20), these two portions of strips being joined, on the one hand, by a transverse strip (21) and, on the other hand, by the strip (16) which joins each of these jaws (6a) to each of the jaws (6) lying in the first plane.
  7. Device according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the metal element (10) furthermore includes a strip (35) provided with a hole (32) allowing connection to a busbar (33) by bolting.
  8. Device according to either of Claims 5 and 6, characterized in that each longitudinal strip (17) has, at a certain distance from the jaw (6) engaging with the main cable (1), a jaw (7) which engages with a secondary cable (2) extending in the direction of elongation of the longitudinal strip (17).
  9. Device according to Claim 8, characterized in that the jaw (7) engaging with a secondary cable (2) is provided on a corrugated end (17a) of the longitudinal strip (17).
  10. Device according to Claim 9, characterized in that the longitudinal strips (17), the various corrugated strips having jaws (7) and the said portions of strips (18, 20) are housed in slots made in the two blocks (11, 12) clamped together.
  11. Device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the element (10a) includes, at one of its ends, two series of teeth (8a) parallel and perpendicular to a strip (25) which is extended by a strip (26) bent back to the above two series of teeth (8a), this bent-back strip (26) itself being bordered by teeth (8a) arranged opposite the two aforementioned series of teeth (8a).
  12. Device according to Claim 11, characterized in that the strip (25) is extended by a widened part (27) in which blades (28, 29, 30) are cut laterally, each blade having two series of teeth (9a) bent perpendicularly to these blades.
