Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Identifizierung von Sendungen, die mit einem lesbaren Identifikationskode (ID-Kode) versehen sind. Dabei soll die Stellenzahl des ID-Kodes bei Beibehaltung des Umfanges der zu identifizierenden Sendungen hinsichtlich Menge und Zeitraum verringert werden. Erfindungsgemäß wird zur eindeutigen Wiedererkennung jeder einzelnen Sendung zusätzlich zum ID-Kode mindestens ein weiteres Merkmal der jeweiligen Sendung durch Messung und/oder Abtastung ermittelt und ausgewertet. Diese Merkmale können meßbare physikalische Eigenschaften oder weitere aufgebrachte Informationen, z.B. Adreßinformationen sein. Es werden diejenigen Merkmale ausgewählt, die eine genügende Unterscheidbarkeit sicherstellen.
