Abstract

The roller skate consists of a main frame (1) with two side plates, between which the rollers (2, 3, 4, 5) are fitted, and an auxiliary inverted U-shaped frame (8) on which the boot is mounted, the auxiliary frame being pivoted to the main one about an axis parallel to the axes of the wheels. The auxiliary frame is pivoted to the main frame by means of two stepped discs (12) which are fixed to the outer surfaces of the main frame. The discs and matching apertures in the auxiliary frame are mounted on the main frame with their smaller sides facing inwards. Each of the discs is fastened in place by a roller axle nut and an auxiliary screw.

Description

The present invention relates to a roller skate in line comprising a main chassis presenting two parallel side plates between which are mounted at least two casters and a chassis U-shaped auxiliary, overlapping the chassis main and articulated on this main chassis around an axis parallel to the axes of the rollers and bearing a shoe.

Un patin analogue est également connu du brevet US 5,135,244.From GB patent 2 160 780, we know a pair of skates in-line casters mounted at the ends of a chassis main in the middle of which is articulated a chassis auxiliary carrying the shoe. A similar pad is also known from US Patent 5,135,244.

The applicant also carried out an inline skate at four casters including the auxiliary chassis carrying the shoe has a U-shaped profile that overlaps the main chassis and which is articulated on the latter around an axis located between the two front casters or just above the axis of the second wheel at count from front roulette. Such a skate is described in patent application FR 2,744,033 in the name of applicant.

For obvious weight reasons, the thickness of the parallel vertical plates of the main chassis between which the casters are mounted, is limited, sufficient rigidity of these plates, generally made of aluminum alloy, being obtained with a thickness of a few millimeters already. The articulation of the auxiliary chassis on the main chassis is carried out by means of a screw and a tubular nut passing through the chassis plates main and whose length is such that it supports the main chassis and the auxiliary chassis. The space between the rollers and the interior walls of the main chassis is weak, which leaves very little space for the head of the tubular nut. For achieve the joint it is by therefore necessary not only to use a head nut as low as possible but still to partially drown this head in the wall of the main chassis. These two measures contribute to weaken the joint.

The object of the invention is to produce a joint which no longer be constrained by space interior between the casters and the main chassis.

The construction according to the invention is characterized in what the auxiliary chassis is hinged around two discs attached to the outside of the chassis main.

Not only does no part project more inside the main chassis but use of a disc enlarges the bearing surface and consequently to reduce the efforts on the pivot thus formed.

So as to also ensure lateral retention of the auxiliary chassis, the discs have preferably two cylindrical bearings of diameters different and the auxiliary chassis has auxiliary circular cutouts each having two diameters corresponding respectively to each of the diameters of the spans of the discs, the diameter smaller being located on the inside of the chassis auxiliary. Any spacing in the auxiliary chassis is thus prevented.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the skate has four casters and the discs are fixed, on the one hand, by a wheel nut and, on the other part, by an auxiliary screw.

By providing several holes on the main chassis tapped located on an arc centered on the axis of roulette whose nuts retain the discs, it is possible to change the position, either towards front, or back, discs and by consequently to modify the position of the articulation of the auxiliary chassis in the longitudinal direction of the skate.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a mode of execution of the skate according to the invention.

Figure 1 is a side view of the skate whose shoe has been partially represented and the wheels shown schematically.

Figure 2 is a half cross section along II-II of figure 1.

La figure 3 représente une variante d'exécution.Figure 3 shows an alternative embodiment.

The shoe shown comprises a main chassis 1 carrying four rollers in line 2, 3, 4, 5 whose fixed rotating shafts are fixed by means of nuts 6 screwed to the threaded ends of the shafts 7.

On the main chassis 1 is mounted a chassis auxiliary 8 having two platforms 9 and 10 on which is attached a shoe 11.

The main frame 1, in one piece, has two parallel vertical flanges, one of which 1a is visible in Figure 2. These wings are connected by spacers such as spacer 1b, a portion is visible in Figure 2 The auxiliary chassis 8 has, at least in the area of the platforms 9 and 10, a U-shaped profile overlapping the main chassis 1 as can be seen in FIG. 2 and articulated on the main chassis 1 around an axis located above the axis of the caster 3, vertical to this axis. The articulation is produced by means of discs 12 whose thickness is equal to the thickness of the wings of the auxiliary chassis 8. These discs 12 are fixed, on the one hand, by the nuts 6 of the shaft 7 of the wheel 3 and, on the other hand, by screws 13 screwed into the main chassis 1. The discs 12 have two different diameters defining two cylindrical bearings 14 and 15, the cylindrical bearing 14 of smaller diameter being located on the side of the main chassis 1 The discs 12 fit into circular cutouts 16 of the wings of the auxiliary frame 8, cutouts which have two diameters corresponding respectively to diameters 14 and 15. The discs 12 therefore serve as pivots to the auxiliary frame 8, further preventing the spacing of this chassis.

An adjustment option can be obtained by providing for additional holes, such as holes 17 and 18, in the main chassis. These tapped holes are located on an arc centered on the axis geometric of tree 7 and passing through the center of hole in which screw 13 is screwed. This screw 13 can therefore be screwed into hole 17 or 18, which corresponds respectively to a displacement towards back and forward of discs 12, i.e. of the auxiliary chassis 8. This gives a possibility of adjusting the chassis position auxiliary relative to the main chassis and its pivot axis.

The skate is of course also equipped with a support elastic behind the joint 12. This support elastic can be achieved, for example, as shown in either embodiment described in patent application FR 96 01 242.

In order to increase the resistance of the chassis auxiliary 8 to the vertical pressure in the part located below the circular cutouts 16 without increase the height of the auxiliary chassis at this place, an elongation downwards can become troublesome during skating, the countersink formed in the cutouts 16 by its two different diameters can be angularly limited. Such an execution is shown in Figure 3. The outer circumference is interrupted at an angle x in the lower area of the cutout 16. The same goes for the counterbore 19 formed by the two diameters and the span cylindrical outer 15 'of the discs 12'. We keep thus the entire thickness of the auxiliary chassis 8 on the height h between the inner edge of the cutout 16 and the lower edge of the auxiliary chassis 8.
