  • This invention relates to a tissue package comprising tissues and a dispensing package. More particularly, this invention relates to compressed packaging of such tissues.
  • Tissues are well known in the art. Tissues, such as facial tissues, are commonly used for blowing one's nose, cleaning tasks, etc. Tissues can also be used as paper towels for wiping, cleanup tasks, etc. Tissues, and their packaging, must be inexpensive and disposable, to be widely consumer accepted. Tissues may be supplied dry, with lotion, or moistened. Such tissues are typically generally rectangular in shape and supplied in discrete sheets. Tissues are typically supplied in and/or dispensed from a generally parallelepipedly shaped dispensing package. The dispensing package has an opening, typically at the top or a side, through which the tissues are removed by the user.

  • Figure 8 illustrates a dispensing package 12 having two pluralities of alternating nested tissues 14 disposed therein, one skilled in the art will recognize that multiple pluralities of tissues 14 may be disposed in the alternating nested configuration, so long as the dispensing package 12 is sized accordingly.
  • the plurality of tissues 14 may be compressed beyond the level at which the first stage compression height FSC is desired and the first stage restraint would be secured around the plurality of tissues 14. This is referred to as "overstroke.”
  • overstroke refers to compressing the tissues 14 by applying compressive force, and compressing the tissues 14 to a lesser height than either the first stage compression height FSC or the second stage compression height SSC, then releasing the compression until the desired first stage or second stage compression is achieved.
  • the tissues 14 may then be bundled at the desired first stage compression height FSC or second stage compression height SSC. It will be apparent to one skilled in the art that overstroking may occur during second stage compression as well. Overstroking the tissues 14 as described above prophetically provides the advantage that control of the rebounds from both the first stage compression and second stage compression is possible.

Claims (10)

  1. Multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14) prévus pour être disposés dans un emballage de distribution (12), ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14) étant comprimée en deux étages discrets, un premier étage et un deuxième étage, lesdits mouchoirs en papier étant retenus dans le premier étage avec une retenue de premier étage, et dans le deuxième étage avec une retenue de deuxième étage, de sorte que lesdits mouchoirs en papier (14) peuvent être libérés du deuxième étage de compression, et peuvent ensuite être libérés dudit premier étage de compression, de sorte que la valeur de compression appliquée au niveau dudit premier étage de compression est inférieure à la valeur de compression appliquée au niveau dudit deuxième étage de compression, lesdits mouchoirs en papier (14) ayant une hauteur libre prise dans le sens de ladite compression, de sorte que ledit premier étage de compression comprime lesdits mouchoirs en papier (14) à une hauteur de premier étage de compression, et ledit deuxième étage de compression comprime en outre ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14) à une hauteur de deuxième étage de compression, ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression étant inférieure à ladite hauteur de premier étage de compression, lesdits mouchoirs en papier revenant à une hauteur supérieure à ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression lorsque ledit deuxième étage de compression est libéré.
  2. Combinaison d'une multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14) et d'un emballage de distribution (12) comportant :
    un emballage de distribution (12) destiné à distribuer les mouchoirs en papier (14); et
    une multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14), ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14) étant comprimée en deux étages discrets, un premier étage et un deuxième étage, lesdits mouchoirs en papier (14) pouvant être libérés de manière indépendante depuis ledit deuxième étage de compression et depuis ledit premier étage de compression, à leur tour, par un mécanisme de libération de deuxième étage de compression et un mécanisme de libération de premier étage de compression, respectivement, de sorte que la valeur de compression appliquée au niveau dudit premier étage de compression est inférieure à la valeur de compression appliquée au niveau dudit deuxième étage de compression, lesdits mouchoirs en papier ayant en outre une hauteur libre prise dans le sens de ladite compression, de sorte que ledit premier étage de compression comprime lesdits mouchoirs en papier à une hauteur de premier étage de compression, et ledit deuxième étage de compression comprime en outre ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier à une hauteur de deuxième étage de compression, ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression étant inférieure à ladite hauteur de premier étage de compression, lesdits mouchoirs en papier revenant à une hauteur supérieure à ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression lorsque ledit deuxième étage de compression est libéré, de sorte que les mouchoirs en papier (14) peuvent être libérés de l'emballage de distribution après avoir été libérés dudit deuxième étage de compression ou après avoir été libérés desdits deuxième et premier étages de compression.
  3. Combinaison selon la revendication 2, dans laquelle ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14) est pliée en U lorsqu'elle est disposée à l'intérieur dudit emballage de distribution (12), et comporte en outre de préférence un élément de support (37) interposé dans le pli de ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier (14).
  4. Multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier ou combinaison selon les revendications 1, 2 et 3, caractérisée en ce que ladite hauteur de premier étage de compression est de 85 à 95 pour-cent de ladite hauteur libre, et de préférence, ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression est de 25 à 84 pour-cent de ladite hauteur libre.
  5. Combinaison selon la revendication 3, caractérisée en ce que lesdits mouchoirs en papier (14) peuvent être libérés dudit premier étage de compression par un mécanisme de libération de premier étage, ledit mécanisme de libération de premier étage comportant une bande, ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier ayant des extrémités libres globalement opposées au dit pli, ladite bande étant juxtaposée aux dites extrémités libres desdits mouchoirs en papier.
  6. Combinaison selon les revendications 3 et 5, comportant en outre plusieurs multiplicités de mouchoirs en papier (14) qui peuvent être disposées à l'intérieur dudit emballage de distribution (12), lesdites plusieurs multiplicités de mouchoirs en papier étant disposées dans une configuration emboítée de manière alternée, de sorte que lesdites extrémités libres desdits mouchoirs en papier adjacents sont orientées dans des directions opposées.
  7. Procédé d'emballage de mouchoirs en papier (14) pour une distribution ultérieure, ledit procédé comportant les étapes consistant à :
    prévoir plusieurs mouchoirs en papier (14) dans une pile, ladite pile ayant une hauteur libre ;
    comprimer ladite pile de mouchoirs en papier dans un premier étage de compression jusqu'à ce qu'une hauteur de premier étage de compression soit atteinte, ladite hauteur de premier étage de compression étant inférieure à ladite hauteur libre ;
    retenir lesdits mouchoirs en papier avec une retenue de premier étage, de telle sorte que ledit premier étage de compression est maintenu ;
    comprimer ladite pile de mouchoirs en papier dans un deuxième étage de compression jusqu'à ce qu'une hauteur de deuxième étage de compression soit atteinte, ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression étant inférieure à ladite hauteur de premier étage de compression ; et
    retenir lesdits mouchoirs en papier avec une retenue de deuxième étage, de telle sorte que ledit deuxième étage de compression est maintenu.
  8. Procédé d'emballage de mouchoirs en papier pour une distribution ultérieure selon la revendication 7, ledit procédé comportant les étapes consistant à :
    libérer ladite retenue de deuxième étage, de sorte que les mouchoirs en papier rebondissent à une hauteur supérieure à ladite hauteur de deuxième étage de compression ;
    libérer ladite retenue de premier étage ; et
    installer ladite multiplicité de mouchoirs en papier dans un emballage de distribution.
  9. Procédé d'emballage de mouchoirs en papier selon les revendications 7 et 8, caractérisé en ce que ledit premier étage de compression subit une course supplémentaire.
  10. Procédé d'emballage de mouchoirs en papier selon les revendications 7, 8 et 9, caractérisé en ce que ledit deuxième étage de compression subit une course supplémentaire.
