Abstract

A phone case including a sheath formed of a rectangular strip which is lengthwise folded in a U-shaped form and is sidewise closed by two bands. The case is also provided at the rear side with a loop which is stitched to the body of the case only along its longitudinal edges so as to form an opening oriented in the lengthwise direction and capable of housing a slidable belt or a strap such as that of a shoulder bag.

Description

PORTABLE-PHONE CASE COUPLED ESPECIALLY TO SHOULDER BAGS
The present invention relates to a case for protecting and carrying a portable phone.
Phone cases aiming at housing cellular phones for easier carriage and use are already known. Some of those known phone cases are provided with a loop stitched to the rear side of the case along its edges orthogonal to the same. Thus, the belt of the user can run through such a loop for supporting the case, and the phone is always within reach as well as within hearing of its call rings.
Instead of such a loop other cellular cases have a rigid bracket astride the belt and secured to the lower side. Such known solutions have some problems in case the user has not got any belt and needs a phone within reach. A particular problem affects the women obliged to carry the phone within the bag, with the risk of damage, the diffi¬ culty of hearing the call, and the trouble of searching the bag thoroughly each time they need the phone. A further problem is the fast wear of the keys caused by repeated pulling out and bringing into cases of the con¬ ventional type, with the result of a friction of the keys against the inner walls of the case.
The present finding seeks to overcome such problems by providing a cellular-phone case including a sheath for re¬ ceiving the phone which is provided with a fixed loop se¬ cured to the body of the case and forming a vertical opening which is oriented in the longitudinal direction of the case and the phone and through which a belt, e.g. that of a shoulder bag, may run.
The advantages generally consist in the capability of car¬ rying cellular phones by means of shoulder bags, thus fa¬ vouring particularly the female users.
Further advantages will be better understood by anyone skilled in the art from the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows an assonometric view of a case for portable phones according to the invention with a schematically drawn strap of a shoulder bag;
Fig. 2 shows a particular embodiment of the case of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of the case of Fig. 1.
In its essential form a case for portable phone according to the invention includes a sheath 1 formed of a rectangu- lar strip 10, preferably of leather, having a width equal to the standard width of the portable phones and being U- folded in the lengthwise direction and sidewise closed by two bands 4 forming the side walls of the phone case. Sheath 1 is further provided at the rear side 11 with a loop 2 which is stitched only along its longitudinal edges so as to form an opening 3 oriented in the lengthwise di¬ rection.
When using a case conceived as above, the phone is brought into the sheath 1 from the above so as to be protected from the outside. Then, in order to be carried, the strap of a shoulder bag, e.g. a woman bag, is brought into opening 3 so that the phone is placed vertically within reach of the user.
Advantageously, the case of the finding is made of leather even at the inner walls so as to reduce the friction against the keys of the phone and the wear during the use. Furthermore the above-mentioned bands 4 are made of elastic material in order to fit the case to any size of the phones. In a preferred embodiment such a loop 2 is also provided with a horizontal opening 3 ' capable of housing a belt running therethrough or, in a further embodiment, such a loop is formed of a fastening strap or tab 3" which can be raised at the lower edge relative to the wall 11 of the sheath 1, to which it is secured by means of a common press-stud.
The present invention has been described according to a preferred embodiment thereof, however, modifications may be made by those skilled in the art without parting from the scope of the protection of the present industrial in- vention.

Claims

Claims
1. A phone case including a sheath (1) formed of a rectan¬ gular strip (10) which is U-folded in the lengthwise di¬ rection and is sidewise closed by two bands (4) and is provided at the rear side (11) with a loop (2) , charac- terized in that said loop (2) is stitched to the case only along its longitudinal edges so as to form an opening (3) which is oriented in the lengthwise direction and through which a vertical strap, e.g. of a shoulder bag, can run.
2. The phone case according to claim 1, characterized in that the inner surface of said sheath (1) is lined with smooth leather in order to have the minimum friction against the keys of the phone so as to reduce the wear during the use.
3. The phone case according to claim 1, characterized in that said sidewise bands (4) are made of elastic material in order to fit the case to any size of the phone.
4. The phone case according to claim 1, characterized in that said loop (2) has a further opening (31) which is horizontally oriented in order to house a slidable belt.
5. The phone case according to claim 1, characterized in that said loop (2) is formed by a fastening tab (3") which can be raised relative to the wall (11) of sheath (1), to which it is secured at the lower edge by means of a press- stud, so that it can be placed astride a horizontal belt and then closed thereon.
