Gehäuse 1 mit einer spiralförmigen Außenkontur. In dem Gehäuse 1
ist vor einer kreisförmigen Ansaugöffnung das
Trommelläufer-Lüfterrad 2 angeordnet. Bei dem bekannten
Radialgebläse befindet sich die engste Stelle x zwischen dem Umfang
des Lüfterrades 2 und dem Gehäuse 1 direkt an der Gehäusezunge 3,
d. h. dort, wo der halbkreisförmige Bogen der Gehäusezunge 3 in die
Spirale übergeht. Von der engsten Stelle x ausgehend, ist in
Drehrichtung ein sich stetig vergrößernder Druckraum 4 vorhanden,
welcher als Diffusor für die mit hoher Geschwindigkeit zwischen den
Schaufeln 5 austretenden Strömung wirkt. Der Abstand zwischen dem
Umfang des Lüfterrades 2 und dem Gehäuse 1 an der engsten Stelle x
beträgt zwecks Vermeidung von unerwünschten Geräuschen

zwischen dem Umfang des Lüfterrades 2 und dem Gehäuse 1 stark
verkleinert und in Drehrichtung des Lüfterrades verschoben. Davor
ist ein sich zur Ausblasöffnung 6 hin vergrößernder Abstand in der
