Abstract

The lock can be opened by an authorised person carrying a device (25) which includes a passive transponder (56) and memory containing a binary authorisation code (29). The outer handle (16) of the door can act on the closure mechanism only when the code supplied from the transponder agrees with the content of the memory (28) of the lock. The transponder is interrogated (54) and the code reader (26) activated only when a periodic switching command (53) is taken up by an alarm transmitter (51), with battery (50), or in emergency when a manual switch (42) is closed.

Description

The invention relates to a lock according to the preamble of claim 1.

That concept based on the main patent has proven itself very well in terms of safety and handling. The only problem is the energy balance with regard to an autonomous, i.e. not mains-operated but battery-operated use of such a lock. This is because the permanent readiness of the reader and the processor connected to it to query and evaluate the code of an identifier that comes close to the lock greatly limits the lifespan of a battery. In addition, it can be expected that the market acceptance of such a code-secured lock can be increased even further by the fact that the high-frequency reading field is not continuously emitted only when needed. Based on these considerations, the present additional invention is based on the technical problem of designing a lock according to the main patent to be contactlessly activatable by means of an identification carrier.

This object is achieved in that a lock according to the preamble of the main claim is additionally equipped according to the characterizing part.

According to this solution, the electronic lock normally remains in the operational ready position (standby mode), in which no high-frequency reading field is emitted, and therefore the evaluation and control processor does not have to work due to the lack of an identification code. The antenna of the reading device, which in itself serves to emit a reading field to be attenuated by a transponder, now acts as a receiving antenna for one Wake-up receiver. The provides a switch-on command for the readiness of the reader and processor as soon as it has high-frequency contact via this reader antenna with a wake-up transmitter with which the identifier is equipped in addition to its code transponder. That transmitter is connected to the coupling coil of the transponder which now serves as the transmitting antenna.

Full operation with radiation of the reading field only begins when the wake-up transmitter of an identifier has approached the wake-up receiver in the castle up to the point of detection. The reading field that is switched on in this way switches off the alarm transmitter in the identifier. It activates the transponder in the usual way in order to transmit the identification code stored in the identification carrier to the reading device by means of amplitude modulation of the field. If this code recorded by the reading device matches a comparison code stored in the reading device, preferably in a non-volatile memory, in a predetermined manner, the processor processes an electromechanical converter for coupling the linkage of an actuating element which is accessible outside the door to the bolt-latch mechanism of the Lock released; otherwise the handle can be turned freely without mechanical action on the locking mechanism. However, it is useful to couple the triggering of a switch-on signal to the reader with the actuation of this handle in the event that the release of the external opening and closing process of the door should also be made possible by means of an identifier without an active wake-up device, for example after the wake-up transmitter has failed Exhaustion of his energy storage in the identifier.

As far as the coding and the function of the lock are concerned, reference is made to the main patent.

Additional alternatives and further developments as well as further features and advantages of this addition - the invention result from the further claims and, also taking into account the concluding explanations in the summary, from the following description of a highly abstracted in the drawing, limited to the essentials in the manner of a block diagram outlined preferred circuit implementation example for the solution according to the invention. The only figure in the drawing shows the peripheral circuitry of a processor for the operational readiness of a lock that can be activated from the identifier.

A door leaf is equipped, for example, under the cover of its fitting, with a contactlessly unlockable electronic lock 13, as explained in more detail in the main application cited at the beginning. To open the door from the outside, the latch 14 can be withdrawn from the striking plate of the door frame by means of a latch 15 if and as long as a handle 16, shown here as a rotary knob, is thus brought into rotation via an electromechanical coupling 18 in the linkage 17. The clutch 18 is preferably engaged by means of a motorized converter 19 as soon as and as long as an enable signal 23 is supplied by a microprocessor 30 to a driver circuit 31 for the operation of the converter 19. This is the case when an identification carrier 25, which a person authorized to open the door carries with him, feeds a reader 26 via an antenna 27 with an authorization code 29, which is also stored in the memory 28 for control purposes.

In order to conserve the capacity of a battery 38 from which the described functions of the lock 13 are fed, the lock 13 is switched off in the idle function (except for a standby state with minimal power requirement). The identification carrier 25 is equipped with an energy store 50 for operating a wake-up transmitter 51. The energy storage device 50 can be a primary cell such as a button battery or a secondary cell such as a physical or chemical charge store (capacitor or battery) powered by solar power. It can be provided to provide a switch 52 in the supply path for the wake-up transmitter 51. Then the wake-up transmitter 51 can, if necessary, for. B. be switched on by means of specific pressure exerted on the identification carrier 25 in order not to continuously load the memory 50. In any case, the wake-up transmitter 51 in operation periodically supplies a pulse-shaped switch-on command 53, which typically consists of a decaying high-frequency oscillation of approximately the same frequency as that of the reading field 54. As a result, it can be emitted via the coupling coil of the transponder 56, which is tuned to resonance, in the identification carrier and received via the coil of the reader antenna 27, which is also tuned to resonance, so that there is no additional antenna expenditure for ending the standby state. As soon as the wake-up receiver 55 has switched on the reading device 26 and consequently emits the reading field 54, the passive transponder 56 is put into operation in the identifier 25 detected by this reading field 54 by means of energy inductively extracted from the reading field 54, to switch off the wake-up transmitter 51 and then dampen the reading field 54 in the rhythm of a binary-coded identification code 29 stored in the identification carrier 25. This is demodulated by the reading device 26 as amplitude modulation of the reading field 54 and fed into the processor 30 as the current identification code 29.

For details of the coding and the code review, the explanations and references in the application for the main patent are again expressly and fully referred to. In any case, the handle 15 can now be actuated by means of the handle 16 because of the engaged clutch 18 (and thus also the latch 14 when opening) if the code comparison 19-19 in the processor 30 is positive. As a precaution, the clutch driver 31 is switched back after a short period of time in order not to leave the lock 13 in operation for safety reasons; the transponder 36 must then be queried again.

During each reading of a code 29 by means of the reading field 54, the wake-up transmitter 51 is therefore switched off in order not to cause interference (for example as a result of a periodically superimposed switch-on command 53). Only when the reading field 54 emitted by the lock antenna 27 disappears, or outside of its range, ie when the transponder 56 no longer works, does the wake-up transmitter 51 in the identification carrier 25 switch on again (if necessary, with additional actuation of the switch 52). The processor 30 can also be equipped with an (internal or external) timer circuit 58 which resets the lock 13 to the standby or sleep state and thus switches off the reading field 54 if a predetermined period of time from the appearance of a radio-controlled switch-on command 53 or one manually triggered switch-on signal 57 has passed.

If the function of the wake-up transmitter 51 is disturbed, so that the wake-up receiver 55 cannot be addressed, for example because of an exhausted memory 50 in the identification carrier 25, it is not possible in itself to emit the reading field 54 via the lock antenna 27 and by calling up the authorized person -Codes 29 to couple the handle 16 kinematically to the lock linkage 17 with latch 14 and bolt 15. In order to nevertheless put the reader 26 and the processor 30 into operation for the authorization check, an emergency switch 42 which can be operated from outside the door is provided and which supplies a switch-on signal 57 to the processor 30 instead of the alarm receiver 55 which responds to the switch-on command 53, in order to emit the reading field 54 for querying an identifier 25 that has just been brought into the vicinity. This emergency switch 24 is expediently coupled to the handle 16 to be actuated from outside the door, because someone who wants to enter through the door inevitably tries to actuate the handle 16 provided for opening the door. In the absence of a switch-on command 53 for the processor 30, the clutch 18 is not engaged, however, so that the handle 16 spins empty. In this case, however, the emergency switch 42, for example a reed switch, is actuated by a permanent magnet which can be pivoted with the handle 16, and the emergency switch-on signal 57 is thus triggered manually in order to emit the reading field 54 for querying the identifier. In this way, the lock 13 can also be operated by means of a passive identifier 25, which is not equipped with a wake-up transmitter 51 - but now not without contact, but only after the processor 30 has been activated via the manually triggered switch-on signal 57.
