Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a vacuum diaphragm pump, respectively. a head part for such a pump according to the preamble of the independent claims.
Diaphragm pumps with an elastic membrane which sealingly engages a counterpart, a pump space being defined between the counterpart and the membrane, are known. An inlet and an outlet valve generally open into the pump chamber. The membrane is moved via an eccentric such that the volume of the pump chamber is periodically reduced and enlarged. When the volume is increased, air is sucked in through the inlet valve, which air is expelled through the outlet valve when the volume of the pump chamber is reduced. In this way, both positive and negative pressures can be generated in gaseous media.
Especially when using membrane pumps to create a vacuum, great demands are made on the materials of the components used. In particular, solvents contained in the gas must not settle in the surface of the membrane and / or the counterpart. The membrane must be elastic and gas-tight and the counterpart should have a fit that exactly matches the shape of the membrane with a minimal volume. In order to generate the highest possible efficiency, the volume of the pump chamber should be as small as possible at the end of the ejection process.
Diaphragm pumps are shown for example in DE 40 07 932 A1, DE 28 51 060 A1 and EP 072 275 A1. DE 40 07 932 relates to a membrane pump with a reinforced membrane in the center, DE 28 51 060 a membrane pump which has two pump chambers which are separated by the membrane and EP 072 275 shows a vacuum pump with a special distribution arrangement for the intake and exhaust valves.
However, all such known diaphragm pumps have various disadvantages. In particular, the membrane and the counterpart have to be surface-treated, which results in complex and costly production. Plastic materials as counterparts are not easily dimensionally stable and often absorb solvents without surface treatment, which can escape again when the vacuum is created.
Another disadvantage of known pumps is their complex construction. The individual parts have to be connected to each other in a sealing manner, which previously meant the use of many individual parts, such as seals, screws and clamps.
The object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages of the known, in particular to create a vacuum diaphragm pump which is simple, inexpensive and can be produced with few components, and which is characterized by a high degree of efficiency.
This object is achieved with a vacuum diaphragm pump or with a head part for a vacuum diaphragm pump according to the characterizing part of the independent claims.
A vacuum diaphragm pump essentially consists of a housing, a diaphragm, a pump chamber and a head part. The pump chamber is limited by the head part on the one hand and the membrane on the other. The head part is in sealing engagement with the membrane. The head part is a cast part Made of glass, which has a sealing surface for forming the sealing engagement with the membrane and which has at least one through opening on the side facing away from the pump chamber for receiving a valve element. Apart from the valve element, which has an inlet and an outlet valve, the pump chamber must be sealed gas-tight to the environment. The advantage of a head part cast from glass is that glass on the one hand has good chemical properties compared to interfering substances such as solvents, and on the other hand is characterized by good mechanical properties such as dimensional stability.
A vacuum membrane pump can be produced particularly easily if the housing has a circumferential shoulder with a projection on which the membrane with a sealing edge area can be placed. The head part has a sealing surface which is sealingly engaged with the sealing edge of the membrane. The individual components of the pump can simply be held together by a closure arrangement which connects the head part to the housing and thus clamps the membrane between the housing and the head part.
The closure arrangement particularly advantageously does not act directly on the head part, but rather on a valve element which is inserted into an opening on the side of the head part facing away from the pump chamber. The closure arrangement exerts a force on the valve element, which is pressed against the head part and thus clamps the membrane between the housing and the head part.
It is particularly expedient if the through opening of the head part tapers conically towards the pump chamber and if the valve element to be inserted into the opening likewise has a part which tapers conically downwards. The The valve element can be inserted into the opening with the conical part, resulting in a good sealing connection. The valve element is advantageously formed in one piece. Of course, the opening and the sealing part can also be cylindrical, so that there is a sealing effect between two cylindrical surfaces.
In a preferred embodiment, the head part has two openings, in which the inlet valve can be used in one and the outlet valve in the other.
In a further preferred exemplary embodiment, the sealing surface of the head part lies in one plane and the surface of the head part delimiting the pump chamber is formed by a spherical segment.

A vacuum membrane pump 1 essentially consists of a
The
In Figure 2, the
To increase its mechanical strength, the
Figure 3 shows a plan view of the

The pump shown in Figure 1 consists essentially of four parts which are sealingly joined together.
